Izawa Cheonan Sinbu-dong Branch is a gyukatsu (beef cutlet) restaurant on the second floor of a building directly in front of Sinbu Culture Park in Cheonan. The gyukatsu set costs 17,000 won and the steakidon (steak rice bowl) costs 15,000 won, and both are grilled at the table on a mini brazier, with free refills of rice and clear soup. The steakidon, tender all the way through, suited us better than the crisp-outside gyukatsu.
Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is a gyukatsu (Japanese beef cutlet) and steki (steak) restaurant on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Walking in the moment break time ended, the writer ordered the gyukatsu set and the steki set, both served medium rare to finish on a personal mini brazier, with a Kirin draft beer alongside. The steki at Hurato Sikdang Yeouido was the best meat the writer has had at any gyukatsu restaurant.
