Today my partner and I headed out for dinner and a light drink at Sudowonui Bimil Jeojanggo (수도원의 비밀 저장고), a bar near Jonggak Station. The quirky medieval European interior really stood out, and even the group room had a kind of secretive feel. The mood is great for beer, so if you're craving tasty food and an ice-cold draft, this place is a good pick.
Parking and getting to Sudowonui Bimil Jeojanggo
Since this bar is near Jonggak Station, there's no dedicated parking. On the plus side, it's easy to reach on foot or by public transport.
What's the medieval interior and seating like?

The bar is on a basement level, so you walk down the stairs. The concept comes through from the moment you enter, which I think makes it a nice date spot too.

There are even medieval knight decorations, so it's fun to look around.
The hall is split into an area with wide tables and a counter-seat area (called dacci seats), so you can sit wherever you like. The room in the back feels properly secretive once you step inside, so if you come with a group, sitting there would be nice. The wall decor has a clear concept too.
Sudowonui Bimil Jeojanggo menu and ordering rules

The menu is varied, mostly meat and Western dishes, and the drink selection is really wide too. It's not one drink per person, but each table has to order at least one alcoholic drink, so keep that in mind. After some debate over what to eat, we ordered the barbecue ribs and two ice-cold Cass draft beers.

What's in the 24-hour slow-aged pork ribs, and how do they taste?

The 24-hour slow-aged pork ribs come as 2 racks of ribs, with french fries, pickles, a salad and 2 sauces on the side. The food came out quickly, which I liked. They give you plenty of sauce, and I think extra sauce was ₩1,000 per type.

The main barbecue pork ribs were generously coated in sauce and looked delicious,

and the salad and pickles came in generous portions too. There were lots of fries piled under the ribs, so plenty.

I first dipped the fries in the sauces, and I preferred the onion-flavored one on the bottom.

The ribs are cut up so they're easy to eat,

and I started with a knife. They were quite tender and tasty, and the meat and sauce went well together.

After a while I switched to picking them up, because ribs really are best torn off the bone with your hands, haha.

So we enjoyed our drinks and the food happily together,

and I paired the ribs with the sauce and cabbage now and then so they wouldn't get heavy.

We cleaned the plate and left in a great mood.
