Seafood braise and fried rice in Sinseong-dong, Daejeon: Seommaeul
Seommaeul is a seafood braise (haemuljjim) and monkfish braise (agujjim) restaurant in Sinseong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The small haemuljjim arrived piled with abalone, shrimp, blue crab, octopus, monkfish roe and fish roe, all dipped in wasabi soy sauce, and the meal ended with fried rice stirred into the leftover sauce and homemade sikhye (sweet rice punch). With adjustable spice levels and its own parking lot, Seommaeul makes for a filling, satisfying meal.
