Yangjae café with parking, Seoul: Belgian dark chocolate at Mini Male

Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a specialty roastery café near Yangjae Citizen's Forest in Seocho, Seoul, made for a coffee break after a walk. Parking at the nearby Yangjae Neighborhood Park public lot costs 300 won per 5 minutes or 1,800 won per hour, and the order here was an iced Helsinki latte, Real Belgian Dark Chocolate, orange pound cake and Swedish babka. The dark chocolate tasted closer to plain cocoa, but the Helsinki latte at Mini Male is the drink worth coming back for.

Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch is a makguksu (cold buckwheat noodle) restaurant near Yangjae Citizens' Forest in Seocho, Seoul, serving 100% pure buckwheat noodles. After a workout at the forest, the writer arrived at 2pm on a weekday with no wait and ordered perilla oil makguksu, dongchimi makguksu and pollack sashimi suyuk, then poured the chilled dongchimi broth into the perilla oil noodles for a combination called deulchimi. Seonbawi Memil Jangteo is worth a stop on days you want noodles without wheat flour.

Post-tennis duck dinner and omija tea in Bucheon: Keunsawi Ori Jip

Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch is a duck restaurant on Yeon-dong-ro in Sosa-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. After a game of tennis at Nambu Water Resource Ecology Park, the writer had dinner here: hinoki-steamed duck (pyeonbaekjjim), spicy duck stew (ori dori-tang), a taster portion of perilla-seed chicken and fried rice, plus unlimited gondre mushroom rice from the self-serve bar and plum and omija tea to finish. Easy parking and free rice refills make Keunsawi Ori Jip worth remembering for a family meal out.
