Dongtan Korean restaurant with a 33-month-old: Yangpuni duruchigi set
In short
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is a kimchi stew and grilled pork restaurant in Bansong-dong, near Dongtan Central Park in Hwaseong. On a rainy day, three of us including a 33-month-old ordered the duruchigi (stir-fried spicy pork) set for two at 28,000 won, which includes a rolled omelette, plus one serving of kimchi jjigae at 10,000 won. The stew was clean rather than fiery and the duruchigi sauce was ideal for mixing into rice, with enough meat to satisfy two adults.

Today I'm writing about Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal, which I found while looking for Korean restaurants near Dongtan Central Park. It was raining and gloomy out, so I was craving warm kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) and also some meat. I found this place after searching around, and the menu had so many things I wanted that I planned out my order ahead of time.
Where is Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal, and when is it open?

Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is located at 36-13 Dongtanbansong 3-gil, Dongtan-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1F. It's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00, with last order at 23:00 and a break time from 15:00 to 16:00.

Parking: 90 minutes free at Gaenari Park street parking
There are parking spots in front of the restaurant, but when we went, they were all taken. So we used the street parking lot near Gaenari Park instead.

It was close enough to walk over easily, and we could park for free for 1 hour and 30 minutes. If there's no spot at the restaurant, I'd recommend using the Gaenari Park street parking lot.
Inside Yangpuni: seating that works with a toddler

Inside, there were several tables with fairly generous spacing between them. We went with our 33-month-old, and it was still comfortable to sit and eat.

We visited a bit after lunchtime and there were still quite a few customers. Delivery orders were also coming in constantly. Since the interior was divided into several sections, it wasn't as noisy as I expected.

From kimchi jjigae to duruchigi to samgyeop kimchi jjim, there was a wide variety of Korean restaurant dishes to choose from near Dongtan Central Park.
What we ordered: duruchigi set for two plus one kimchi jjigae

That day I wanted both meat and kimchi jjigae, so I ordered the duruchigi set and a kimchi jjigae for one. The duruchigi set for two was ₩28,000 (including egg roll), and the kimchi jjigae for one was ₩10,000.

There was also a self-serve corner where we could freely help ourselves to side dishes, garlic, and ssamjang (dipping paste).

The rolled omelette that comes with the duruchigi set
First, the egg roll included with the duruchigi set arrived, and its size alone stood out.

The egg roll was soft and tasty, so even our 33-month-old ate it well with rice. It came out thick, so even a few bites felt filling.

Is Yangpuni's kimchi jjigae spicy? Clean rather than hot
Next came the yangpuni kimchi jjigae, and I was told all the ingredients were domestic. The kimchi was crunchy and tasty, and the broth wasn't too spicy or salty, making it easy to eat with rice.

The meat was thick and there was plenty of tofu too. Rather than a thick, heavy style, it was a relatively clean kimchi jjigae, which suited my taste well.

I wanted to add ramyeon noodles to the broth, but I got too full from also eating the duruchigi, so I couldn't — a bit of a shame. Next time I'll definitely make sure to add the ramyeon noodles.

Duruchigi made for mixing into rice
Next up, duruchigi. This was really my style. The sauce was thick and generous, and it was delicious mixed into rice.

There were also perilla leaves and lettuce for wrapping, which made it even more enjoyable. The sauce wasn't too strong and had a slightly sweet touch, which suited my taste well.

The portion of meat was generous enough that it wasn't lacking even for two adults.
Why we'd go back to Yangpuni with our 33-month-old
We ate well and heartily, from kimchi jjigae to duruchigi. The duruchigi especially suited my taste, so I'd like to go back next time I'm in Dongtan. If you're looking for a hearty Korean meal near Dongtan Central Park, Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is worth considering.
