Marine City Chinese restaurant: ₩1,000 jjamppong upsize, Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Adelis shopping arcade in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. On a dinner visit, the blogger ordered sticky rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) upsized to a large for just ₩1,000 more, plus eoyang mandu (dumplings in fish-fragrant sauce) through a review event. With its tangy-sweet black vinegar sauce, rich and spicy jjamppong broth and parking in the arcade, Bueokgan Chinese is worth planning a meal around before or after a walk on Dongbaekseom Island.

I was looking for a good place to eat around Haeundae and suddenly craved proper Chinese food, so I stopped by Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch. Marine City has so many great restaurants and stylish spots that it's hard to decide where to go, but I'd heard locals eat here often, so I was curious.
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch hours
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is open daily 11:00-22:00, with a break time from 15:30-17:00.

There's a sink right at the entrance, which was great for washing hands before and after the meal. Whoever did the interior had good sense.

Interior mood and ocean-view seating
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch has an overall clean, upscale feel, so I thought it would work well for a family meal, a date, or dinner with friends. The interior is elegant and pretty.

And one big plus is the ocean view visible from almost every seat. That's one of the perks of eating in Haeundae, right?

The restaurant is apparently nearly 100 pyeong, and the tables have relatively generous spacing, so it looked comfortable for families or larger groups too.

Marine City parking and location
Even the lighting looks carefully chosen — so pretty. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building, where Pungwonjang and Subyeonchoego Pork Gukbap are also located, and for parking you enter through the Adelis main gate and turn right into the mall parking lot, which made it convenient to come by car! Parking around Marine City can be a bit of a hassle sometimes, so having mall parking available was a nice plus^^

I heard that word of mouth now brings people from as far as Gwangalli, Dalmaji, and Nampo-dong just to eat here — and I get why.
What I ordered: tangsuyuk and beef brisket jjamppong upsized
That evening I ordered tangsuyuk and a large-size beef brisket jjamppong. Going large only costs an extra ₩1,000. At a Chinese restaurant, jjajangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk are the usual go-tos, but Bueokgan Chinese feels upscale enough that it felt like a special-occasion visit. You can see the ocean view from my seat, right? I came for dinner, but I imagine the view would be even better during a bright, clear afternoon.

Sticky rice tangsuyuk with black vinegar sauce
I started with the tangsuyuk I'd ordered first. Tangsuyuk is always best fresh out of the kitchen — the smell alone was amazing. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch's tangsuyuk turned out to be made with sticky rice, which is exactly my favorite kind, so I was thrilled. Eating a piece while it was still warm, I could really feel the crispy outside and soft inside.

The tangsuyuk sauce wasn't too heavy or sharp — it was pleasantly sweet and tangy, which went well with the fried pork. They apparently use black vinegar imported directly from China in the sauce, and I think that's why it had a slightly deeper flavor than the usual tangsuyuk sauce☺️

Tangsuyuk is a dish that pretty much everyone likes, so it would be a great order for a family visit too. Very spicy or strong-flavored dishes can be a lot when eating with kids, but tangsuyuk is a fairly mild, easy-to-share option — highly recommended.

Beef brisket jjamppong, upsized for ₩1,000
I'd had a snack before coming, so I worried ordering two full dishes with the tangsuyuk would mean leftovers, but since the beef brisket jjamppong could be upsized, I added ₩1,000 and went large anyway. And sure enough, being the large size, the portion was quite generous. The noodles were plentiful and the broth was piled high with beef brisket, so it looked delicious from the first glance^^

Eoyang mandu from the review event
There was a review event where they offered eoyang mandu (fish-fragrant dumplings), so I was curious and ordered it — the sauce was sweet with a deep flavor, turning simple fried dumplings into something more upscale.

The savory, rich flavor of the beef brisket blended with the jjamppong broth, giving it a different feel from the usual seafood-heavy jjamppong. The broth was rich and spicy, the kind of flavor that keeps pulling you back for another spoonful.
With so much meat in it, it can feel a bit greasy, so I'd especially recommend it for meat-loving guys!

A good stop before or after a Dongbaekseom walk
Marine City is close to Dongbaekseom, so a lot of people look for a place to eat nearby, and like me, plenty just eat and then go for a walk before heading home. If you're looking for a hearty meal before or after a walk around Dongbaekseom or an outing in Haeundae, it's worth stopping by☺️ The staff were also really kind. If you're searching for a place to eat in Haeundae, or looking up Dongbaekseom or Marine City restaurants, put Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch on your list.
