The writer ordered the original chicken noodles, the perilla oil chicken noodles and tangpadak (chicken topped with shredded scallions). Yujinok Gangnam's original chicken noodles come with clams and taste clean and refreshing like white jjamppong, with a light smoky note that makes them great for a hangover. Yujinok Gangnam is worth a visit for a weekday lunch when you want a refreshing broth to settle your stomach.

Seongnam Korean restaurant: bossam and mul naengmyeon set, Bossam Ae

Jeonju pho restaurant with Hanwoo broth and summer rolls: Phodam

Phodam Jeonju City Hall Branch (포담 전주시청점) is a Vietnamese restaurant specializing in pho, banh xeo and banh mi on Paldal-ro in Wansan-gu, Jeonju. At lunch the writer ordered brisket pho, summer rolls, banh xeo (Vietnamese crispy pancake) and a bulgogi banh mi. The highlights were the Hanwoo beef bone broth, said to be simmered every morning, the summer rolls dipped in peanut sauce and the wrap-your-own banh xeo. Verdict: Phodam is a Jeonju pho spot serving authentic Vietnamese food at good value.
