What bag did I choose for summer?
While looking for a light, breezy-feeling bag for summer, I picked up this rattan-style shoulder bag from Meda Bag. I had small bags that I crocheted myself, but this time I needed a larger one that could hold plenty of things.

For a few years now, I’ve made hats, bags, and tea coasters with paper yarn, so I’m familiar with this kind of crocheted texture. This bag also has a rattan-like texture made with rough-feeling paper yarn, so I thought it suited summer really well.

How was it packaged?
The bag arrived neatly packed inside a pouch. Having it in a pouch made me feel that care had gone into the shipping.

Did the lining and zipper make it easy to organize?
The base is quite wide, so it was nice for carrying various belongings. Because it has a lining, I didn’t feel the stretching that crochet bags can have while using it, and there was also an inner pocket for keeping important items separately. It’s a light, thin bag, but it has the storage features I needed. At the time the original post was written, it was introduced as being in the ₩10,000 range.

I also liked that I could zip the opening closed. I’ve dropped bags a few times before and had everything spill out, so I wanted a bag with a closure. I could keep the contents closed away from view.

How did it look with a keychain, and what was the finishing like?
I added a little horse keychain that I crocheted myself. It had a similar feel to the bag, so it went well together, and the bag’s broad surface made it easy to add a point of interest with one keychain.

My favorite part was the finishing. I’m sensitive about loose threads sticking out of clothes or bags, but this bag was neat, without the annoyance of threads catching on things. I also liked the handle design.

Can it carry a tablet and keyboard while staying light?
I always carry water in summer, so I prefer a bag that is light itself. If the bag is heavy too, I get tired quickly, but this one had both the size and weight I was looking for.

I tend to pack a lot when I travel, so I got it as a bag for summer trips or trips to warm countries. It was important that it could hold plenty of the things I need.

Even after putting in my iPad and keyboard, there was room left. It’s lightweight and has plenty of storage space, so I’m going to carry it for travel and everyday use from now on.
