Pasta place in Cheomdan, Gwangju: black pepper white ragù at MooDoo

I went out for brunch with my sister for the first time in ages, haha! I wondered where to go and ended up picking MooDoo in Cheomdan, where I go often anyway!

MooDoo Cheomdan is where I stop by whenever I'm looking for a good brunch spot in Cheomdan. I liked it so much the first time that I've already been back several times. It's one of my favorite brunch places 🤍

Where is MooDoo Cheomdan, and what are the hours and parking?

MooDoo is on the 2nd floor of Yastek Tower at 5 Cheomdangangbyeon-ro 87beon-gil, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, in Ssangam-dong near Lotte Mart. It's open 11:00 to 22:00, and you can use the underground parking in the building.

Lots of places in Cheomdan are annoying to park at, aren't they? ㅠㅠ But MooDoo has a garage under the building, so it's easy to come by car. On weekends and at lunchtime I sometimes circle around hunting for a spot, so not having to worry about parking is one reason I keep coming back, haha!

Is MooDoo Cheomdan busy at weekday lunch?

I walked into MooDoo at noon on a weekday and there wasn't a single empty table!! You may have to wait if you come at peak time.

A brunch date with my sister, finally! Meeting up after so long, eating good food and chatting away... heading out for brunch just puts me in a good mood, haha. It's been a while since I came, and it's a weekday, right? No empty tables!! People really do come in fast. This is how it looked when we arrived at 12. MooDoo is this hot even on weekdays :)

The view outside the curtains is so pretty. Autumn has fully arrived! The sky was lovely that day, and the leaves were turning such pretty colors.

What we ordered for two, and what it cost

My sister and I ordered one pasta and one pizza at MooDoo, and the total came to ₩43,500. We came for brunch, but ordered like we were having a proper meal, lol.

Is the black pepper white ragù pasta too rich?

MooDoo's black pepper white ragù pasta (₩21,000) is a cream pasta with the sharp kick of black pepper and a richly simmered white ragù sauce. Even though it's a cream pasta, I couldn't find any heaviness at all.

If you usually like cream pasta, order this! I had a really great meal, honestly?! Unlike an ordinary cream pasta, the black pepper gives it a bit more flavor. The deep white ragù sauce plus that peppery bite was a combination that grabbed me from the menu description, haha. Cream pasta can get heavy, so a version with a peppery note is a fun change, right? Heavy? Not at all~~~

What is MooDoo's arugula steak wood-fired pizza like?

MooDoo's arugula steak pizza (₩22,500) is a premium wood-fired pizza topped with cube steak and arugula. With steak on top, it feels a little more special than a regular cheese pizza.

When I go for brunch I really love the pasta and pizza combo. It's just right! >.< A pizza topped with arugula looks appetizing, and the fragrant arugula makes it a charming dish. If you like wood-fired pizza, you absolutely have to order it too 🍕

Why I keep going back to MooDoo

MooDoo is one of the places that naturally comes to mind whenever I want brunch in Cheomdan. I like hunting down new restaurants, but sometimes it's nice to go back to a place I've visited many times. It was my first time having white ragù pasta, and it lived up to my expectations! Really delicious! It has minced meat in it, so it's a hearty pasta, haha!

And the wood-fired pizza, what can I say, the price is good too. If you ask me where to get good wood-fired pizza in Gwangju, I can only recommend MooDoo in Cheomdan!! haha. Ask me about brunch in Cheomdan and you've got to go to MooDoo!

How many slices is the pizza, and does it come with dipping sauce?

The pizza at MooDoo comes in 6 slices, so my sister and I polished off 3 slices each, haha! When you order pizza, they also bring a dipping sauce and hot sauce.

Dipping the crust in the sauce was great. They gave us hot sauce too, but the pizza is tasty even without it! :) Since it's wood-fired, the dough is wonderfully chewy! ><
