9,900-won lunch set at a Yangjae Korean BBQ: Gamdol Yeontan Jip

Even though it's past the first day of autumn, the weather's still sweltering — but I had a lunch appointment before work, so I stopped by Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch and had a genuinely delicious pork bulgogi set.

It was such a good lunch menu that I really want to recommend it — let me introduce the special pork bulgogi lunch set right away!

Where is Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch, and when is it open?

Gamdol Yeontan Jip is about a 3-minute walk from Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station. Since there are a lot of companies in the area, the restaurant row was packed with people. There were plenty of nearby office workers at Gamdol Yeontan Jip too, in for lunch!

The interior is nice and clean like this. Behind the partitions there's not quite a private room, but the space is divided up. And the seats are generally pretty spacious, so it seemed like a great spot for a work dinner too.

What's on the menu at Gamdol Yeontan Jip in Yangjae?

Gamdol Yeontan Jip's regular menu has gochujang charcoal bulgogi, charcoal rock-salt pork belly, special jajangmyeon-cut pork neck, seolhwa kkodeulsal (crispy pork skirt meat), anju (side dishes for drinking) like hagfish, pork skin, chicken feet, capelin, and dried squid, plus rice dishes like fried rice, bibim noodles, sundubu-jjigae, doenjang-jjigae, and steamed egg!!

Since we came for lunch, only the lunch menu was available. We ordered the special charcoal bulgogi set for 3 people. The charcoal bulgogi set is only 9,900 won — such great value!! And we also ordered the 990-won lunch draft beer haha.

What comes with the 9,900-won charcoal pork bulgogi lunch set?

This is exactly how the lunch setting came out!! We got fish cake, kimchi, and garlic scapes. The fish cake was really really good, and this place is a kimchi champion. The kimchi... it's well-fermented, domestic kimchi, so it was so delicious.

They serve heotgae tea instead of plain water. I love a restaurant with tasty water >.< Overall, this place is impossible not to be satisfied with for lunch. It's simple with a single menu, great value, and even the water is delicious :)

The 990-won lunchtime draft beer

Isn't a 990-won draft beer just too cute~~?? I also ordered a Zero Coke and took a photo with it. The draft beer was so refreshing and delicious 👍👍👍👍 One glass would be such a great mood-lifter, ㅠ I wanted to drink it all too but I had my work schedule, so it's a shame I couldn't 🥹

Charcoal pork bulgogi for three, served on the grill pan

Ta-da, our special pork bulgogi for 3 people arrived. It's grilled and served right on the pan, so there's no worry about the smell soaking into your clothes. The portion was huge, so the three of us ate until we were completely full!! The taste was clean and so satisfying~~

I wrapped the pork bulgogi in lettuce and also ate a lot of it with kimchi. As I mentioned above, the kimchi is really delicious, so I strongly recommend eating them together ✨✨⭐️❣ Wrapping it in lettuce is unbelievably tasty too.

Sundubu-jjigae soft tofu stew included with the set

And here's what makes this Gamdol Yeontan Jip charcoal bulgogi set such great value — as you can see in the photo, it even comes with a stew!! The stew was sundubu-jjigae, and it was so refreshing, clean, and delicious. The combo of bulgogi and stew was so good~~ that I highly recommend this whenever you're stuck deciding on lunch. Amazing value bulgogi + stew + side dishes = 9,900 won!!

Among noodles, rice, and bread, I'm totally a rice person. So when I eat these Korean dishes that go so well with rice, I really need to have two bowls^.^ That day I only managed a bowl and a half but•••!!! Anyway, my point is this is the kind of place where you'll want to order two bowls of rice~~

Self-serve refills and after-meal sweets

Oh, and also, you can refill banchan and lettuce at the self-serve bar! On the way out there was a plum slushie for dessert, but unfortunately it wasn't ready yet so I couldn't try it ㅠ-ㅠ Still, I got the sense this is a place that's got even dessert covered perfectly, so if you're wondering what to have for lunch around Yangjae, I recommend Gamdol Yeontan Jip's charcoal pork bulgogi at 9,900 won — such great value!!
