Yeouido Station Japanese restaurant, steki set and yuzu cider: Hurato

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido (후라토식당 여의도직영점) is a Japanese restaurant serving gyukatsu (beef cutlet) and rice bowls on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower, near Exit 3 of Yeouido Station in Seoul. Returning to the restaurant where she first ate with her husband, the writer grilled gyukatsu and the steki set (19,500 won each) on a small tabletop brazier, and though she is usually team gyukatsu, the steki won her over that day. Grilling the meat yourself makes Hurato Sikdang Yeouido a fun pick for both dates and solo meals in Yeouido.

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch (가나안덕 계양점) is a charcoal-grilled duck restaurant in Gyeyang, Incheon, near Bakchon Station. The writer and her husband ordered a whole raw duck (700g, 56,000 won) to grill over charcoal, then added Busan milmyeon (cold wheat noodles, 7,000 won), a finishing porridge and charcoal-roasted sweet potato. With a large parking lot, a roomy dining room, tasty kimchi and a self-serve bar, Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch made for a satisfying family meal out.
