Snack bar near Euljiro 1-ga with hand-rolled rice balls: Hyeonseoni-ne
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is a long-running snack bar on Namdaemun-ro near Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, serving both tabletop instant tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and regular tteokbokki. On a weekday evening after work there was a wait, and the Hyeonseoni Combo arrived with tteokbokki, sundae (blood sausage), fried snacks, gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and fish cake, plus review-event rice that guests roll into rice balls and dip in the tteokbokki broth. A solid after-work dinner if you want to taste several Korean snack dishes at once.
