Saturday-night beef restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, full by 8pm: Usijang
Usijang Hoegwan is a beef and raw-beef-sashimi restaurant a 3-minute walk from Mapo Station in Seoul. Arriving at 7pm on a Saturday, the writer ordered the kkuri-sal perilla-leaf yukhoe-sashimi platter (55,000 won), clam beef soup with rice (14,000 won) and half-frozen slushy soju, and by 8pm every table at Usijang Hoegwan was taken. The beef quality and the deep, rich soup broth were both good enough to plan a return trip to this value-for-money beef spot near Mapo Station.
