The verdict: Sokcho Fish Market Sanbon branch serves salmon and flatfish at a reasonable price and is a good Sanbon sashimi spot for a full course ending in noodles.

Onnuri voucher claypot rice lunch near Sanbon Station: Dongyang Sotbap

Dongyang Sotbap Sanbon (동양솥밥 산본점) is a Korean restaurant specializing in sotbap (rice cooked in a stone pot) near Sanbon Station in Gunpo, Gyeonggi. A couple with twins had steak claypot rice, abalone claypot rice with the soup swapped to seaweed soup for ₩2,000, and ₩5,900 guobaorou (sweet and sour fried pork) for lunch; the nurungji (scorched rice) comes in its own pot, and staff bring a fresh hot one when it cools, so the meal stayed warm to the end. For a lunch near Sanbon Station that accepts Onnuri vouchers, Dongyang Sotbap Sanbon is a solid choice.

New Sanbon Korean restaurant for spicy oje bokkeum and soju: Deodolpan

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch is a newly opened stone-plate Korean restaurant in Sanbon, Gunpo, Gyeonggi, on the 2nd floor of the Somunnan Tong Gimbap building on Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil. A couple ordered the oje bokkeum (squid and pork stir-fry) set meal at the spicy level for dinner, with self-serve bar side dishes, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), a glass of soju and a stone-plate fried rice finish. Deodolpan Sanbon Branch felt clean and comfortable as a brand-new space, and both the side dishes and the fried rice were satisfying.

Sanbon BBQ with Jin Ramyeon boiled by the grill: Geobugi Dongne

Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch is a pork BBQ restaurant sold by the 100g, on the 2nd floor at 24 Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil in Gunpo, Gyeonggi. This visit ordered the jjolmyeon-ogyeopsal set — 500g of five-layer pork belly with a giant spicy vegetable jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) — circled the 20-item self-serve side dish bar, and boiled a pack of Jin Ramyeon Spicy on the second burner beside the grill. With free soft ice cream to finish, Geobugi Dongne sent us out completely stuffed.
