Kkuudeok, where you can enjoy steak, pasta and risotto at a great price near Seolleung Station

Where is Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch?
Kkuudeok (꾸우덕) Seolleung Main Branch is a 7-minute walk from Seolleung Station, on the 1st floor of the Sui Building on Seolleung-ro 82-gil. Today I came to Seolleung Station. I hadn't had pasta in a while and was searching for a place, and the name Kkuudeok, which sounds thick and creamy already, caught my eye, so I paid a visit.

There was also a kiosk in front of the restaurant where you can join the waiting list through Catch Table! The entrance already felt like a popular spot, so my expectations went up ✨

What is the atmosphere like at lunch during the Chuseok holiday?
Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch is reasonably spacious! I visited at lunchtime during the Chuseok holiday and there were still quite a lot of customers. Natural light comes in inside, so the mood is nice and the photos turned out well.

I liked that you can scoop out as many cucumber pickles as you want yourself!
What is on the Kkuudeok menu?

The menu runs from pasta to risotto, pilaf and sirloin steak, plus items you rarely see at an ordinary Western restaurant, like myeongnan mayo rice balls (pollock roe) and square Spam rice balls. You can also have wine or draft beer, which I liked!

Kkuudeok Hansang Set: what's in it and how much is it?
We ordered the Kkuudeok Hansang Set (₩46,800). It comes with truffle funghi cream pasta and shrimp rosé risotto, and with a green grape ade and a cider added, the final bill was ₩52,300!
Here's the Kkuudeok Hansang Set after the wait! With such a variety of sauces and garnishes, it felt promising from the start.

How do you grill the sirloin steak on the brazier?
The sirloin steak at Kkuudeok comes out only lightly seared on the outside, not cooked through. You then grill the rest on the brazier however you like!

There were also 3 dipping sauces. Even with just one dish, a place where you can enjoy it in different ways is always nice!

You put butter on the brazier and grill the steak in it. The butter melts faster than you'd think and the candle also goes out quickly, so I recommend cooking it fast, in a quick slurp-like go! Meat grilled in butter can't possibly taste bad, of course!

The finished steak was great dipped in whole grain mustard,

and it was just as good dipped in plain salt. At a Western restaurant a steak usually starts at over ₩30,000–40,000, so I liked that Kkuudeok lets you enjoy it for ₩18,000.

A palate cleanser between the cream dishes: green onion salad
The salad of finely sliced green onions with dressing also cut through the richness, and I enjoyed it! Since we ordered two cream dishes, going without a side like this would have felt a bit sad! Maybe because some Western restaurants these days don't serve pickles or side dishes at all, even one small salad like this is nice to get!

How thick is the shrimp rosé risotto at Kkuudeok?
The shrimp rosé risotto at Kkuudeok was thick and creamy through and through. Probably because so much cream goes in, it had a rich creamy flavor and I really enjoyed it.

What I especially liked was the big shrimp in it, which made me think again that it's good value. The rice had a nicely cooked texture too, so it was delicious.

While eating I took a sip of the green grape ade now and then, and it was cool and sweet and tasty.

How does the truffle funghi cream pasta taste?
And now the truffle funghi cream pasta I'd been looking forward to! It had lots of big king oyster mushrooms and also oyster mushrooms, so the textures of the two kinds of mushroom were great. The truffle aroma wasn't overpowering, just right, and I enjoyed it.

The cream sauce was thick too, which hit my taste perfectly as someone who only eats cream pasta. The noodle texture was good as well, so I was satisfied!
Verdict: good-value Western food near Seolleung Station in Gangnam
The staff were friendly and the food was tasty overall at Kkuudeok! Even though it's Gangnam, you can eat here at a good price, which made me even happier. If you're visiting Seolleung Station or wondering where to go for a date, I recommend Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch.
