I heard that a new raw fish sashimi restaurant, Seosan Jonghap Eosijang, had just opened near the Jungheung S-Class apartments in Yecheon-dong, Seosan, so I rushed over to check it out. Spoiler: I came home completely satisfied haha^^

Thanks to the fast turnover, I got to eat super fresh raw shrimp sashimi and flounder sashimi at Seosan Jonghap Eosijang! As always, here's my honest, detailed review.

Where is Seosan Jonghap Eosijang, and where do you park?

Seosan Jonghap Eosijang is located across the street from Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, and there's a dedicated parking lot behind the building, so parking was super easy. There are also plenty of open lots nearby, so no worries about parking.

(By the way, the owner mentioned they're planning to open outdoor seating later! If that happens, I'll come back and post another review^^)

As someone who loves seafood on a regular day... when I heard a raw fish sashimi spot had opened in Seosan, I rushed over in broad daylight haha~~

We visited around 3pm on a Sunday but they'd run out of ingredients, so we came back at 4pm. You know good turnover means guaranteed freshness, right?

Inside Seosan Jonghap Eosijang: tablet ordering at every table

Check out the Seosan Jonghap Eosijang menu~ Once we sat down, it was fun browsing all the different menu options. There's always something exciting about picking what to order at a raw fish sashimi place haha

Since it's newly opened, the whole place felt clean and well put together, and the staff were super friendly! Sunlight streaming in through the big windows made the space feel bright and cheerful, while the AC kept things cool — total paradise!

Raw shrimp sashimi for 29,000 won: how many shrimp do you get?

First up, I ordered raw shrimp sashimi and a somaek (soju-beer mix).^^ ₩29,000 for the shrimp is pretty reasonable, don't you think?

Ordered raw shrimp sashimi and a glass of somaek

Raw shrimp sashimi does have the downside of having to peel it yourself... but I ordered it anyway haha. This is the true taste of in-season shrimp!

Here's the basic table setting. I loved that the seaweed soup came in a big bowl!!

The self-serve bar: tteokbokki, fried fish cutlets and side dishes

My favorite part of the whole place!!! The self-serve bar~ Not only was it fully stocked with basic side dishes, but it also had tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Korea's soul food, and fried fish cutlets.

I didn't expect much from the tteokbokki, but the sauce was tastier than at most dedicated snack shops!! (My boyfriend Yoon-gun agreed too~~) The fried fish cutlets came out freshly fried, so they were moist and crispy, and I went back for refills several times. Seafood and fried food are a match made in heaven, right? Hehe

Table filled with food from the self-serve bar

The table got so full thanks to the self-serve bar~ We already had a somaek before the raw shrimp sashimi even arrived.

The raw shrimp sashimi we ordered arrived~ They said it comes out to about 15 pieces^^ For raw shrimp sashimi, freshness is everything, and looking at these shrimp, they were seriously fresh!

Nice work peeling those~~

My boyfriend and I prefer to peel them all at once even if it's a bit of a hassle, so we diligently got to prepping.

Cheers

With the first bite, I could taste the subtle natural sweetness unique to shrimp, and the chewy, plump texture kept my hand reaching back for more without even realizing it.

Butter-grilled shrimp heads for 2,000 won: order them

Butter-grilled shrimp heads, ₩2,000. They save the shrimp heads aside while prepping the raw shrimp sashimi, and you can order them fried in butter separately. At Seosan Jonghap Eosijang, the butter-grilled shrimp heads leaned toward the natural flavor of the shrimp itself rather than a sweet sauce, and they were fried until crispy like a cracker! If you're ordering shrimp, I definitely recommend trying these too^^

Ahh~~~ this is what happiness feels like

Small flounder for 27,000 won with plenty of engawa fin meat

We also ordered a small flounder (₩27,000).

Plate of additional small-size flounder sashimi

There was plenty of the flounder fin meat (engawa) that my boyfriend and I love, and we were so happy about it~ We eat flounder sashimi pretty often, but there hadn't really been a good spot for it in Seosan — this felt like the moment we found our new go-to place.

Everything was so tasty that... we went back to the self-serve bar for more tteokbokki and fried fish cutlets. Lol. It's seriously so good!!! Definitely going to be a regular here ㅠㅠ

We really ate a lot between the two of us haha

What to know before visiting Seosan Jonghap Eosijang

By dinnertime, every table was completely full~~~ If you don't want to wait, I'd recommend visiting before dinner hours^^

The restrooms are separate for men and women inside the restaurant, and they were kept very clean^^

Next time I'll have to try the kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup)~^^ That's it for my review of the Seosan restaurant Seosan Jonghap Eosijang.
