Daegu gopchang restaurant even non-fans love, Anjirang: Gopchang119

In short

Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch is a new vegetable gopchang (stir-fried intestines with vegetables) and al-gopchang restaurant on Anjirang Gopchang Alley in Nam-gu, Daegu. The writer, who often ate vegetable gopchang in Seoul, ordered the A Set (al-gopchang plus vegetable gopchang) and cheese fried rice for about ₩30,000 for two. The portion looked like more than 2.5 servings, and her husband, who doesn't usually like gopchang, kept eating. For anyone who prefers seasoned gopchang over plain-grilled gopchang or makchang, Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch is worth a visit.

Some days you just crave spicy vegetable gopchang (intestines stir-fried with vegetables) with a glass of soju. I lived in Seoul for a long time, so I like vegetable gopchang more than raw gopchang, but surprisingly Daegu doesn't have many places that specialize in it~ Then I stumbled on a place I was quite happy with. Will you take a look with me?!👀

What is Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch like?

Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch (곱창119 안지랑점) is a vegetable gopchang restaurant that only recently opened on Anjirang Gopchang Alley. It's not far from Anjirang Station, it allows corkage (for a fee), and the hall is big, so it looked great for get-togethers. I once took out food from the Gopchang119 Sangin branch and remember it being delicious, so I was so happy to hear there was now a branch in Anjirang~

The tables are spaced out widely, so it felt comfortable, and having an indoor restroom was handy! The food also comes out fast, so you don't have to wait long, which I liked. Both delivery and takeout are available.

How much does Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch cost?

What impressed me was the price: about ₩30,000 for two people, which is really cheap. There are lots of smoky gopchang dishes, plus set menus that make choosing easy.

About ₩30,000 for two is pretty good, isn't it? The set menus make ordering easy, and the sides and drinks come in plenty of varieties, so it would work well for a big group too.

Do you have to grill the vegetable gopchang yourself?

At Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch the gopchang comes fully cooked, so there's no need to cook it yourself and you can eat right away. And, haha... I was surprised all over again by the generous portion, which looked like more than 2.5 servings.

A Set (al-gopchang + vegetable gopchang): taste and portion

The A Set at Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch is 1 al-gopchang (roe-filled intestines) plus 1 vegetable gopchang, served mixed together. They cooked it with lots of vegetables, and the glass noodles were piled in too.. so awesome! The portion was that big, and the flavor wasn't harsh, so I ate really well. Best of all, my husband, who doesn't really like gopchang, kept saying how good it was and didn't stop using his chopsticks!

You could really taste the smoky fire flavor, the gopchang wasn't tough but had a soft texture, and there was no gamey smell at all, so I kept eating! They also gave us pickled radish for wraps (ssambu), a mayo sauce, and what I think was a garlic sauce?!, all of which went really well with it.

When you order cheese fried rice at Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch, they put on a fire show with a torch. And, haha, I was like "wow, I have to film this!" The soft, nutty cheese blended in nicely, and the fried rice portion was also huge,, you need to leave some gopchang to cook into the rice, so we left about 2/3 of the gopchang and had them turn it into fried rice.

Who is Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch recommended for?

A satisfying vegetable gopchang spread in Daegu

I recommend Gopchang119 Anjirang Branch to anyone who likes seasoned gopchang more than raw gopchang or makchang (grilled large intestine). Honestly I think it's the best gopchang I've ever had, and maybe the one and only place where I was satisfied with both the portion and the service! How about it for today's lunch?!
