Korean BBQ restaurant in Gimpo with trampoline garden: Jeongwon Galbi
In short
Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch is a large Korean BBQ restaurant in Yangchon-eup, Gimpo, Gyeonggi, with a spacious private parking lot and an outdoor garden. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon reservation, the family tried a platter of idong galbi, jeongwon pork galbi, Korean pork belly, and steamed egg, and while idong galbi was a bit of a miss taste-wise, jeongwon pork galbi suited better. With a kids' playroom, trampoline, and group seating, it's worth noting as a Korean BBQ spot for family gatherings or group meals.

Went out for BBQ with the family this weekend haha! This time we visited Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch (정원갈비 김포본점)!
We'd booked a 1:30 PM Saturday reservation in advance, and the first thing that caught my eye on arrival was how much bigger the place was than I expected.
Spacious parking from the start

Parking matters when you're eating out as a family, right? Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch has such a wide private lot that we could walk right in without any parking stress.

The weather was gorgeous that day too, the sky was so pretty haha. There's also a big garden out front of the restaurant.
Rather than jumping straight back in the car after eating, it was nice to sit outside for a bit, and there was even a trampoline for the kids to run around on!

For a family outing with kids, having this kind of outdoor space seemed like a real plus!!
A restaurant that works well for groups

Once inside, the place was really spacious!! Plenty of tables, great for family meals, and

the space also looked pretty comfortable for group gatherings or a larger crowd eating together.

Banchan and self-serve bar
There was also a nice variety of basic banchan (side dishes)!

Everything from spicy marinated crab to japchae to salad came out, so I tried a bit of each before the meat arrived haha.

The self-serve bar had plenty of options too, with vegetables and wrap greens ready to go — super convenient!!

Starting with the idong galbi platter

We ordered a platter of idong galbi, jeongwon pork galbi, and Korean pork belly!! The idong galbi platter came out first!! Onto the grill it went, golden brown on both sides

since it was pre-marinated, we laid the pieces on the grill one by one and flipped them ourselves so they wouldn't burn haha.

As it turned golden brown it looked really appetizing, so I dug in with high expectations. This was actually a dish I'd been looking forward to, but honestly it was a little disappointing to my taste haha.

Still, there were various side dishes and salts to pair it with, so I tried mixing and matching. ><
Having tried all three types of meat that day, the jeongwon pork galbi we ordered afterward suited my taste a bit better haha.
A grill that doesn't send smoke up
One thing I liked while grilling was that the smoke extraction wasn't the type that pulls smoke down through the center — instead it captured the smoke right from the sides of the grill!! So even while cooking, the smoke didn't billow up, making for a more pleasant meal haha.
Jeongwon pork galbi and pork belly

After finishing the idong galbi, we ordered more meat: two servings of jeongwon pork galbi and two of Korean pork belly! Since the galbi was pre-marinated, we flipped it as it grilled to keep the sauce from burning, and ate it with wrap greens too.

The Korean pork belly also grilled up nice and golden on the pan. >< Three kinds of salt came out to dip the meat in — wasabi salt, curry salt, and more, each with a slightly different flavor, so we switched them up depending on the meat!!
It was fun trying all these different combinations.
Plus steamed egg

You can't eat BBQ without steamed egg, so we added one haha. Having a warm bite of steamed egg between rounds of meat was a nice touch.
That day, our family worked through idong galbi, pork galbi, and pork belly, and left having tried quite a variety.
Overall thoughts on Gimpo Jeongwon Galbi

The restaurant is spacious, so it seems great for anyone looking for a Korean BBQ spot for family gatherings or group meals!! There's a playroom and trampoline for kids to run around in, plus an outdoor garden to linger in after the meal, so it looked like a solid option to visit with kids too!!
If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant in Gimpo with plenty of parking, a big dining room, kid-friendly space, and group seating, this one's worth checking out.
