Gangnam Station bar for team drinks: cheese potato pancake, Arigyegok
In short
Arigyegok Gangnam is a Korean gastropub on Teheran-ro 1-gil near Gangnam Station in Seoul, and its wide table spacing and soft lighting make it a good spot for group gatherings and work dinners. Four people went to Arigyegok Gangnam for a Monday second round and ordered mud duck crepe, the spicy hangover chicken hot pot from the set menu and Ppogul cheese potato pancake, and all four were very satisfied. Because the dishes are so filling, Arigyegok Gangnam is better as a first stop than a second round.

I had a get-together in Gangnam for the first time in ages, went looking for a pub, and found Arigyegok Gangnam. It's known as a place with a good vibe, so I'd wanted to try it. Everything on the menu looked good enough to count as a proper "famous eats" spot, and after actually ordering, I wanted to come back with other friends too. If you're after a Gangnam Station bar that feels like a real find, you'll be really happy here!

Is Arigyegok Gangnam good for group gatherings?

Arigyegok Gangnam is a good pub for meeting up in Gangnam, fine for an evening get-together or a meal with drinks. There are so many tasty dishes that it's also great for having a drink with dinner. We came for a second round on a Monday, and even on a weekday there were lots of guests!
There's no parking, so if you drive, I'd recommend the nearby Yeoksam Culture Park Public Parking Lot No. 1.

Interior atmosphere and table spacing
The lighting is a little dim overall, but it felt moody rather than noisy. So it's perfect for chatting over drinks!! The tables are fairly far apart, and the place is big enough for a group. I'd recommend it for a Gangnam company dinner or gathering too!! It was crowded, so I took the interior photos at closing time.
The restroom is in the shop building next door, separate for men and women, and it was clean, which I liked.

What we ate at Arigyegok Gangnam
Mud duck crepe: better in taste and texture than in looks

The first dish that caught my eye at Arigyegok Gangnam that day was the mud duck crepe (jinheuk oritjeonbyeong). The way it's served hanging is striking, but when you actually eat it, it focuses more on flavor and texture than on show.

The duck has rich seasoning and a smoky char on the outside, and the meat inside isn't dry but stays juicy, so the smokiness and savory depth really come through. Eaten with the crepe wrappers and vegetables, it felt much lighter. The pleasantly fatty, smoky duck, the tasty sauces, and the lettuce that refreshes your mouth with the crispy wrapper together were honestly the best.
Spicy hangover chicken hot pot: for anyone who needs a soup with drinks

The spicy hangover chicken hot pot (eolkeunhaejang dakjeongol), which we ordered as a set menu, was perfect with drinks. The broth isn't overly harsh for how it looks.. it's pleasantly spicy with a deep savory flavor!! The chicken doesn't fall apart even after long boiling, and you can dip it in the broth whenever you like to keep it moist, so I recommend it to anyone who must have a soup dish with drinks.
Ppogul cheese potato pancake: a must for groups

If you come as a group, order at least one of these: the Ppogul cheese potato pancake (gamjajeon), which was totally my kind of dish. The potato is julienned and pan-fried moderately thick to keep the grain, and the cheese and toppings made it crispy outside and tender inside. The cheese is really rich too, so it hit my taste exactly.
Arigyegok Gangnam verdict: better as a first stop than a second round

To sum up, I came to Arigyegok Gangnam while looking for a Gangnam pub, but it's a worthy restaurant in its own right. Every dish looked bold, and tasted just as good, so all four of us were very satisfied!! The place is big, so I strongly recommend it for a group dinner, and since there are so many tasty, filling dishes, I'd recommend going for a first round. You can reserve on Naver, and check the wait on Catch Table. I'm absolutely, totally planning to go back!!
