Bucheon men's salon for an overdue cut and side down perm: Ieum

It had been a while, and I wanted a proper cut, down perm and hair consultation all in one go. So I booked through Naver with manager Taeho at Ieum Men's Hair Bucheon City Hall Station Branch (이움 맨즈헤어 부천시청역점), a Jung-dong salon famous in Bucheon for doing men's hair well.

Since it's on the 3rd floor, you can just take the elevator up, haha. Hours are weekdays (Mon–Fri) 11:00–21:00 and weekends (Sat–Sun) 10:00–20:00. It's a men-only salon with a waiting area and separate men's and women's restrooms. Naver booking is available, pets are welcome, and it's a no kids zone.

Interior vibe and the private one-person rooms

The inside is done in wood and yellow tones, so it feels clean and warm overall! There's a good waiting area too, so waiting is comfortable.

What I liked most was the private one-to-one space. From the area where you get cut and permed to the shampoo room, everything is separated, so you can relax without worrying about the person next to you, haha.

At Ieum Men's Hair, you fill out a short checklist before the cut. Answering the questions let me share my usual hairstyle and the look I wanted in advance, which I liked.

Before: hair two months after my last cut

It had been about two months since my last cut, and my hair felt a bit heavy and stuffy. I figured I should tidy everything up, so I decided on a cut and a down perm! Before starting, manager Taeho carefully checked my current hair condition and face shape, and advised me on styles that suit my usual worries.

I asked for just a light trim. He gave me neat, tidy sides exactly how I wanted, haha. He even cleaned up the back hairline!

How does the side down perm go?

Before the down perm, manager Taeho carefully applied a protective product so my hair wouldn't get damaged. I wanted a look that's clean but natural, so we went with a side down perm, haha.

Drinks and snacks while waiting

While I waited after the down perm, they set out drinks and snacks for me. The chocolate arrived right when my energy was dipping, and it perked me right up, haha.

The private shampoo room and massage

At Ieum Men's Hair Bucheon City Hall Station Branch, the shampoo also happens in its own private one-to-one space. The chair is really comfortable, and lying there I felt like I could drift off, haha. They also gave me a light massage along with the shampoo, which made it even better!

After: results of the cut and down perm

The cut and down perm are done, and it looks calm, clean and natural, with a trendy touch on top. I'm so, so happy with it!!! Manager Taeho nailed the style I described at the start, which made me like it even more. From now on, Ieum Men's Hair is my go-to for cuts and down perms!!!

When I mentioned I had plans afterward, he did the finishing styling too! Thanks to manager Taeho's careful, attentive work, I loved how the finished style turned out!! No wonder it's famous as a Jung-dong salon, haha.
