Guro, Seoul bar for green grape highballs and pork jjaglagi: Eulji

I was looking for a hot bar near Guro Digital Complex Station and ended up at Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch!

It's close to Guro Digital Complex Station and I'd heard the place was huge, so I was curious!

Once I actually went, it wasn't just a place to drink and eat and leave — there was so much else to enjoy, which made it great for hanging out with friends~!

What is Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch like inside? A retro pocha hall

Walking in, I was surprised — it was way bigger than I expected!! There were props and dolls everywhere that reminded me of the old days, and the whole place had this retro atmosphere going on?!

A totally different feel from the sleek, modern bars you see these days! There's that old-school pocha charm and romantic feeling, so just looking around was fun haha

The place is big enough that it works well for groups, and it felt less like a Guro station restaurant you just go to for a bite and more like somewhere to properly drink and hang out!

What we ordered at Eulji Pocha, and how the coin event works

Once we sat down, they brought roasted corn kernels as a basic side dish first~! I munched on those while checking the menu, and there were honestly so many options. Stews, stir-fries, fried dishes — so many good drinking snacks that I spent ages deciding what to get haha

First I ordered the green grape highball, and for food that day I chose

• Cheongju pork jjaglagi (bubbling stew)
• Ttongbanoban

those two!

As each dish arrived, the staff gave us coins along with the food. Turns out the number of coins depends on the price of the menu item. They explained you can collect these coins to play the claw machine, make your own dalgona or cotton candy, or get ice cream! That's when it hit me — 'oh, this is really a place you come to play' haha. It's not just a spot to drink normally, it's an event pocha where you can experience all kinds of things, so it seemed like it'd be really fun with friends haha

How does the cheongju pork jjaglagi taste? Peppery broth piled with green onion

The cheongju pork jjaglagi was genuinely delicious!! And finally, the food arrived! This was the best thing I ate that day! Honestly, the broth here is on another level haha

There was a ton of green onion in it too, and the seasoning had soaked right into the onions, so eating it with the broth was so good. The seasoning was rich and spicy in a way that kept me coming back for more — made me want rice, and it kept the drinks flowing too! A proper drinking snack. I genuinely thought about packing it up to take home while I was eating it haha. If you're into soup-based dishes and looking for a Guro station restaurant, I'd definitely recommend the cheongju pork jjaglagi!

Squid and chicken gizzards in one plate: ttongbanoban

Second up was ttongbanoban! It's a dish with squid and chicken gizzards together, a bit different from the usual gizzard stir-fry I had in mind.

It had a slightly sweet soy sauce base, and eating the squid and gizzards together actually worked surprisingly well. It was my first time eating squid and gizzards like this, and it was better than I expected haha

Spooning up the jjaglagi broth and picking at the ttongbanoban piece by piece — the combo worked well! With such a wide variety of side dishes, this feels like a good Guro station bar for a group to visit and order a bunch of things.

A DJ pocha that takes song requests

While eating, we put in a song request too. Turns out Eulji Pocha takes requests! We requested two songs we wanted to hear while eating. Other people's requests played first in order, and then finally ours came on haha. Hearing the song I requested blasting through the place made it feel that much more exciting.

Good food, a drink, and hearing your song request — it really lifts the mood! So this place would suit anyone looking for an upbeat DJ pocha.

Spending the coins on dalgona, cotton candy and ice cream

Once we were nearly done eating, we grabbed our coins and went to play haha. After finishing most of the food, we decided to try using the coins we'd gotten earlier. First up: making dalgona! The dalgona station had clear instructions, so you could just follow along step by step, but doing it myself turned out to be trickier than it looked haha

Since it was my first time, the result was a bit of a fail, but the process itself was fun. Next up, I tried making cotton candy!

This was also my first time making it myself, and after winding it around a bit, I ended up with a slightly messy-looking but decent cotton candy haha

There's something kind of fun about adults coming to a bar and playing around making dalgona and cotton candy...

After making dalgona and cotton candy, I used the leftover coins for ice cream. Starting with drinks and food, then dalgona, cotton candy, and finally ice cream haha

Being able to eat, drink, and play all in one place seems to be Eulji Pocha's biggest appeal.

Is Eulji Pocha worth it? Final thoughts

Overall, the place was big, the retro atmosphere was fun, and the variety of side dishes made for a satisfying visit to Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch. Especially the cheongju pork jjaglagi — it was so good I think I'd order it again next time!

With the DJ pocha vibe of hearing song requests, plus an event pocha setup where you can use coins for dalgona, cotton candy, claw machines and more, it definitely had a different kind of fun than an ordinary bar.
