I was looking for a good restaurant with a nice atmosphere near Dangsan Station and stumbled on this Han River view place, Hangangview Dangsan (한강뷰당산), so let me introduce it! I had no idea somewhere like this existed in Dangsan. It's a 30-second walk from the station, yet you get an open Han River night view, so it was a really satisfying spot for a date or an anniversary dinner.

Location of Hangangview Dangsan in the Metro29 building at Dangsan Station

Seoul has plenty of Han River view restaurants, but not many are easy to get to. Hangangview Dangsan is in the Metro29 building, a 30-second walk from Dangsan Station Exit 3. The location makes meeting up so easy that I'd strongly recommend it for wedding-invitation get-togethers and all kinds of gatherings around Dangsan Station.

It's on the 10th floor of the building, so you just take the elevator up.

Elevator and entrance up to Hangangview Dangsan on the 10th floor

Even in the elevator and at the entrance I wondered, "Will we really be able to see the Han River?" But the moment I walked in, I couldn't help gasping.

How do you get a window seat at Hangangview Dangsan?

Windows run along three sides, so you can see the Han River from any seat, but the view is best at the window seats. Window seats are assigned first, in order of reservation, to bookings that order a wine bottle.

Such a pretty Han River view restaurant, right?! I went around sunset, and the golden glow was so beautiful, it was romantic through and through 🤍

I visited with a regular reservation, and on the day I went I was lucky, maybe because there were no bottle reservations, and I got a window seat!! Lucky ⭐

When the food arrived, the Han River view outside the window was so pretty that I spent ages just taking photos. That's the kind of Dangsan Station restaurant this is.

House wine by the glass at Hangangview Dangsan

How was the house white wine?

For drinks, I kept it light with the house wine by the glass (₩12,000). Bottles here run from the ₩50,000 range up to premium wines, so ordering a bottle would be a good idea if you're going in a group!

The house white was exactly the style I like: clean, with moderate acidity. It was refreshing to drink and went well with the food.

Amatriciana pasta at Hangangview Dangsan

Amatriciana pasta

The amatriciana pasta (₩29,000) at Hangangview Dangsan is a tomato-sauce pasta with Iberico pork jowl guanciale and peperoncino.

Amatriciana tomato pasta with guanciale

The peperoncino gives this tomato pasta a nice bit of spice. I'd assumed a pasta at a Han River view restaurant would only have the atmosphere going for it, but the food quality was better than expected!!

Serving up the amatriciana pasta

The rich tomato flavor hit first, and the deep savoriness and nuttiness of the guanciale blended in well.

Shrimp tuumba risotto topped with a poached egg at Hangangview Dangsan

Shrimp tuumba risotto

The shrimp tuumba risotto (₩29,000) was my personal favorite at Hangangview Dangsan! It looks gorgeous too.

Break the poached egg in the middle and mix it in, and the flavor gets much smoother and richer.

Thick shrimp tuumba risotto mixed with the poached egg

The thick tuumba sauce (a creamy, spicy sauce) stood out: nutty, rich and creamy, with more savory depth than heaviness.

Plump shrimp in the shrimp tuumba risotto

The shrimp were plump and springy, and the subtle savoriness that builds as you eat meant it never felt heavy, so I enjoyed it to the last bite. Dangsan Station restaurant status: confirmed 👍

Beef tartare topped with an egg yolk at Hangangview Dangsan

Beef tartare

The beef tartare (₩27,000) is the Hangangview Dangsan dish I'd most recommend with wine! It comes topped with an egg yolk, and it reminded me of the sunset outside the window, haha.

Break the yolk and toss it well with the raw Korean beef (yukhoe)!

Hanwoo beef tartare tossed with the egg yolk

As you'd expect from a dish made with fresh hanwoo (Korean beef), the texture was very tender and chewy. The seasoning wasn't overdone, just enough to bring out the flavor of the ingredients, so it was great with wine.

Is Hangangview Dangsan good for dates and anniversaries?

Even among Dangsan Station restaurants, Hangangview Dangsan is very easy to reach, so it's no trouble to pick as a meeting spot. The Han River sunset and night view through the big windows made the meal feel extra special, and you naturally end up taking lots of photos, so I recommend it as a Han River view restaurant for dates and anniversaries 🤍
