Late-night 24-hour Chinese restaurant in Mokdong: Yugwanjang Banjeom

Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch is a Chinese restaurant near Omokgyo Station in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, open 24 hours every day except Monday night. On a late-night visit for two, the order was cuttlefish jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) with a whole cuttlefish in the bowl, mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour fried pork) that was crisp outside and tender inside, and zero-sugar cola, with the table kiosk handling water, aprons, wet wipes and takeout packaging without calling a server. Yugwanjang Banjeom is worth remembering when you want hot, spicy Chinese food in Mokdong after midnight.

Brisket samhap and Hong Kong ramyeon at Ugojip, a Seocho BBQ spot

Ugojip is a grilled meat restaurant in the basement of Banpo Shopping Town Building 5, right in front of Exit 8-2 of Express Bus Terminal Station in Seocho, Seoul. After work, two friends ordered the brisket samhap (chadolbagi brisket, comb pen shell scallop and aged kimchi), Hong Kong ramyeon and steamed egg, and the ramyeon broth, buried under enough mussels to cover the bowl, washed away the richness of the brisket. For an exit-front location and a three-way brisket combo, Ugojip is an easy choice.
