Kkachisan Station rice bowl set with extra shrimp tempura: Hekbap

In short

Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is a rice bowl and ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor near Exit 3 of Kkachisan Station in Gangseo, Seoul. On a midsummer day with no appetite, a couple ordered a rice bowl set that comes with udon and fried chicken, plus ramen and a separate order of shrimp tempura — and regretted not ordering two shrimp instead of one. With such a wide menu, Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is an easy choice on a "what should I eat today?" kind of day.

Hot nights~ can't sleep~ we're inching toward the last dog days of summer, but with zero appetite in this heat, here's my write-up from visiting Hekbap! 😉

Why we chose Hekbap Kkachisan Branch for a quick meal near Kkachisan Station

Even for one simple meal, picking a menu is honestly a whole task..?! ㅠㅠ

We didn't want anything too heavy, but eating carelessly felt like a waste of the day too. So while wandering around near Kkachisan Station looking for somewhere simple to eat, we stopped by Hekbap Kkachisan Branch to knock out a meal!

2nd floor building entrance of Hekbap Kkachisan Branch

Walking in, the place felt neat and tidy overall, and it had a vibe where you wouldn't feel self-conscious eating alone. Haha. For anyone looking for a solo dining spot near Kkachisan Station, that's a pretty big deal, right?!

Go inside the building and up to the 2nd floor and the store is right there, so there's basically no chance of getting lost! There are so many restaurants around that I actually hesitated for a second about where to go, but being close to the station means it's probably great for lunch crowds. 😎🤓

Hygiene aprons provided at the store
There are hygiene aprons too~

Where is Hekbap Kkachisan Branch? 2nd floor by Kkachisan Station Exit 3

It's not hard to find from Kkachisan Station, so it'd work fine for meeting up with someone too! The store is on the 2nd floor and close to Exit 3, so it's convenient to reach by subway! (Ah, I'm hungry〰️)

Utensils individually wrapped in paper

The individually wrapped utensils I've mentioned in other posts too,, they make me happy. (Someone whose nostrils flare with satisfaction over hygiene standards)

The 'magic solution' book sitting on the table

The "magic solution" book left on the table

There was this odd little book sitting on the table? Not sure if every table has one, but it said 'magic solution' so I flipped it open and

The message 'Don't worry' inside the opened book

Don't worry lol (about what..?)

From rice bowls to ramen: how wide is the Hekbap menu?

Sitting down to look at the menu, the range really was wider than I expected, from rice bowls to ramen?! So it felt like a good spot to come to alone and still pick something that suits your mood. 🧡🤭🩵👀💚🫶🏻💛😉✨

I liked that it's not a place with just one signature dish — you can pick whatever fits your condition that day. Heh heh.

A full meal spread with rice bowl and sides

Once the food came out, the meal was more properly put together than I expected~?! (Ah, what a treat~ what a treat~🎼 I break into song when food is good)

A rice bowl topped with the main ingredients

The rice bowl itself, tomato and all

The rice bowl at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch has the main ingredients piled on top of the rice, so it looks appetizing and you don't need to order anything else on the side — one bowl fully covers a meal, which seems especially handy during a busy lunch hour!

Close-up of the rice bowl mixed with toppings

Rice bowls really are best eaten with the rice and toppings mixed together lol. Mixing in the toppings little by little as I ate, the bowl disappeared before I knew it.

There's even tomato on top! Sounds tasty, right?! Lol it genuinely was tasty ㅠㅠ 🥹🫶🏻 Finished the whole bowl〰️

Order the set and udon and fried chicken come too

The set menu comes with udon too~ heh heh~ definitely go for the set🙏

A bowl of udon included in the set

And that's not all~?! There's chicken too~ heh heh~ the set really is the best! ✨

My husband's ramen and the shrimp tempura we added on

This is the ramen my husband ordered!! This was tasty too! It had that basic, original signature kind of feel~?! 😎😋

A bowl of ramen ordered by the husband

We ordered the shrimp tempura separately, and yeah, we should've gotten two pieces instead of just one.. regret hitting in hindsight,, lol ㅠ

What's great about Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is that it's an easy pick on a 'what should I eat today' kind of day! If you ask your girlfriend or wife 'what do you want to eat today?' and get 'anything~' back.. don't panic, just bring her here! Lol the menu is huge!!👍👍👍

Shrimp tempura ordered separately

Kept sneaking bites of my husband's ramen too. Your ramen's mine too. My rice bowl's mine too. Everything's mine.

Would we go back to Hekbap Kkachisan Branch?

If we come back, I'd want to order this same set again, or try a different ramen flavor!! On a day near Kkachisan Station when you're craving something simple but filling, Hekbap seems worth dropping by :)
