Korean BBQ in Hongdae, Seoul with mixed cold noodles: Chopilsal

Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, less than 5 minutes on foot from Hongdae Station, run by a well-known Busan pork grill house. On a weekday evening, the writer and her younger brother ordered 3 servings of salted ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) at 12,000 won per serving, filsal pork skin for 9,500 won, and chopilsal mixed cold noodles for 8,000 won, and the pork skin arrived fully grilled, which was the highlight. The ogyeopsal was thick and satisfying too, but the writer says to order the pork skin no matter what.

Hongdae nail salon full-parts stone art, old nail removal: Byuazeu

Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare is a total beauty shop in Mapo, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Hongik University Station. The writer booked through Naver Reservation to have a set of nails from a Vietnam trip, left on for over a month, removed and the shape corrected, then chose September's monthly art from nail artist Hanseul — stone art with full parts on both index fingers. With so many sample designs laid out at Byuazeu Hongdae, she was already picking her next set while this one was being done.
