Seoul Chinese restaurant for solo whole fried eggplant lunch: Huhugwan
Huhugwan is a Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the building right in front of Exit 10 of City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. After an errand at Deoksugung Palace, I stopped in alone and ordered the pepper stir-fry rice (13,000 won) and the fried eggplant, served whole and deep-fried to a crisp. The smoky pepper stir-fry rice and the bar seating make Huhugwan an easy, good-value solo meal, especially if you book after the main lunch rush.
