Yongsan shabu-shabu: eye of round vs top blade at Shabu in Seoul
Shabu in Seoul Yongsan Main Branch is a raw-beef shabu-shabu restaurant on Yongni-dan-gil in Yongsan, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from Samgakji Station Exit 3. One order each of the Prime Angus almoksim (eye of round) shabu set at 25,000 won per person and the Prime Angus salchisal (top blade) shabu set at 30,000 won per person made a side-by-side comparison of the two cuts, cooked in clear mushroom broth and finished with kalguksu noodles and egg porridge. Shabu in Seoul is worth the trip for the meat quality, but note there is no on-site parking and private rooms can only be booked through CatchTable or by phone.
