Yongja 1 Gwanpyeong Branch is a Korean restaurant in Gwanpyeong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon serving hand-pinched kimchi dumplings and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) made from house-cut dough. Arriving alone around 11:10am on a weekday company lunch break, the writer ordered only the steamed dumplings at 9,000 won for 8 pieces, and the skins were so thin and the filling so packed that 4 pieces were enough — the other 4 went home from the self-serve takeout corner. With solo-friendly two-seat tables and an addictive free bowl of kalguksu broth on the side, Yongja 1 is an easy place to eat alone.
