Bucheon outdoor bar: honey beer & beef intestine stew, Geumbyeol Beer

Geumbyeol Beer Sinjungdong is an outdoor-seating bar (yajang) in Bucheon, a 7–8 minute walk from Exit 3 of Sinjungdong Station. On a cool evening at an outdoor table, the writer had Geumbyeol Beer's signature honey beer with 9,900 won fried squid and hanwoo beef intestine gochujang stew, and both the crispy squid and the rich intestine broth paired well with the beer. For outdoor drinking and quality bar food in Sinjungdong, Geumbyeol Beer is a good choice.

Beotkkot 38 (벚꽃38) Open-Air Pocha is a Korean street-style pub with a second-floor rooftop, near Exit 2 of Gasan Digital Complex Station in Gasan, Seoul. After a first round elsewhere, the writer stopped at Beotkkot 38 for a second round of fried chicken and french fries with beer, and the freshly fried chicken, with its thin crust and well-seasoned meat, beat expectations. Beotkkot 38 is a good fit for office workers in Gasan who want open-air drinking and tasty bar food together.

Bucheon Station monkfish spot, boneless stew & corn cheese: Haemul

Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch (해물특별시 부천역본점) is a pojangmacha-style (street-tent pub) seafood restaurant near Bucheon Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, serving monkfish stew and seafood stew. Around 7 pm with a friend, the writer had boneless monkfish stew at spice level 2 (about as hot as Shin Ramyun), served on a hot stone plate with side dishes such as corn cheese and steamed egg, plus fried dumplings. With no bones to pick and a stone plate that stays hot to the end, Haemul Teukbyeolsi's boneless monkfish stew is an easy choice even for first-timers.

Yeouido snack bar: 10-min lunch wait, salt-dipped sundae, Hyeonseonine

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch (현선이네 프리미엄 IFC몰점) is a tteokbokki and Korean snack bar on B2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. On a day out at The Hyundai Seoul, the writer waited about 10 minutes at lunch for the Hyeonseonine Combo Set at medium spice, with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), sundae (Korean blood sausage), fritters, fish cake and mini gimbap. The portion was generous even for three, and the sundae beat expectations, so first-timers should order the medium-spice Hyeonseonine Combo Set and make sure it includes sundae.
