Wonju restaurant after Yongsugol flower festival: jjusamsae for two

Singi Arrowroot Naengmyeon & Jjukkumi (신기칡냉면&쭈꾸미) is a Korean restaurant on Yeowon-ro in Munmak-eup, Wonju, Gangwon, serving stir-fried baby octopus alongside cold noodles. A couple stopped in after Wonju's Yongsugol fall flower festival and ordered the jjusamsae for two (baby octopus, pork belly and shrimp) at 38,000 won plus codari mul-naengmyeon at 12,000 won, and with about ten shrimp on the pan it was almost too much food for two. The spicy octopus and the cold codari (half-dried pollack) noodles worked so well together that the couple cleared every plate despite being full.

Post-run lunch at a Chungju salad and poke restaurant: Salad Ring

Salad Ring, Chungju Terminal Branch is a salad and poke restaurant on Bonggye 1-gil, right in front of Chungju Terminal in Chungju. After a run at Jungangtap, the writer and a friend shared one real raw salmon bibim poke (mixed poke bowl) and one grilled steak protein rice bowl, and paid only 500 won beyond the building's free first hour of underground parking. The bowls looked vegetable-heavy but turned out filling enough that both were scraped clean.
