Anok is a hanok-style Korean restaurant up a flight of alley stairs near Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. The Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) came with a gentle beefy aroma, a clean broth and the nutty scent of buckwheat, while the pork tail jjim (braised pork tail) was more savory than spicy with a pleasantly chewy bite. Anok is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00–23:00, and closed Mondays — a quiet place to eat Korean food away from the crowds of Hongdae.
