What is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno?
Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is a Instagram-worthy Western restaurant that's great for a date with your girlfriend around Hyehwa Station in Daehangno!! I came to Daehangno for the first time in a while to see a play.
There are so many fun shows and so many good restaurants here that it's a real hot spot, and I come to Daehangno pretty often. I heard that among all the restaurants, this one is especially good for dates, so I decided to go right away.

How to get to Omil Hyehwa Daehangno from Hyehwa Station
You can find Omil Hyehwa Daehangno about a 5-minute walk from Hyehwa Station Exit 4!! It's on the second floor of a commercial building, so just take the stairs up.
I'd done a bit of searching before visiting, but the Instagram-style vibe I felt the moment I saw the entrance made me even more curious.

Inside Omil Hyehwa Daehangno: atmosphere and seating
The interior at Omil Hyehwa Daehangno oozes Instagram vibes from the start. Since it's such a photogenic place, there were clearly lots of couples, and it seemed to draw more women than men.
For the size of the shop, there were more tables than I expected, so we could eat comfortably.

How do you order at Omil? QR ordering and the self-service bar
At Omil Hyehwa Daehangno you order easily with the QR code at each table. After ordering, you fetch pickles and water yourself from the self-bar on one side of the shop.
Maybe because it's a Western restaurant, there was plenty of tangy pickle.

The first thing they brought out was the drinks. I had orange juice for the first time in a while, and it goes surprisingly well with Western food.

What we ate at Omil Hyehwa Daehangno
Crunchy corn fritters (₩11,900), served with three-finger gloves for two
The first thing I ordered was the crunchy corn fritters (₩11,900). It's whole corn fried with plenty of seasoning and Parmigiano cheese (Grana Padano-style hard cheese).
I'd never seen corn fritters on a menu before, so I ordered them feeling pretty unfamiliar with the idea.

You eat them by hand, gnawing them off the cob, so they gave us plastic gloves. At first I thought, what is this, there are six finger slots?! Turns out it's a 3-finger glove for two people.
You put on the gloves and dip the corn in the sauce they bring with it. Personally, the seasoning powder was so tasty that it was good even without dipping in the sauce.

Bacon cream pasta (₩18,900) in a thick porcini mushroom cream sauce
The bacon cream pasta (₩18,900) is a rich cream pasta with a creamy porcini mushroom sauce and salty bacon. It's a thick, heavy cream pasta, so I'd definitely recommend it to people who love rich food.
I liked that it had lots of mushrooms, which I love, and it went really well with a fizzy drink. If you usually like thick cream pasta, definitely order it!!

Rubber duck omurice (₩16,900): the Halloween version of the signature dish
The rubber duck omurice (₩16,900) is the signature dish of Omil Hyehwa Daehangno. A well-made omurice (omelet rice) topped with lots of cute ducks. Taste aside, you have to admit the looks alone are a winner.
The day I visited was close to Halloween, so I'm told it had been newly decorated as a Halloween menu.
Inside the omelet was a generous portion of nicely stir-fried fried rice. It goes well with the hayashi rice (hashed beef stew) based sauce too, so I think anyone, young or old, would like it. Since it's the signature, if you go to Omil Hyehwa Daehangno, I recommend ordering it!!

Can you take the rubber duck home from Omil?
The pumpkin basket that came with the rubber duck omurice had a cute rubber duck in it, and they said we could take it home as a souvenir!! They clearly know exactly what the customers who come just for the vibe want.
Is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno good for a Daehangno date meal?
Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is full of charm all over the shop, which put me in a great mood, and my girlfriend, who came with me, loved it too. If you're looking for a proper vibe-y restaurant for a date around Hyehwa Station in Daehangno, try Omil Hyehwa Daehangno!! Recommended.
My rating is ★★★★.
