I went to Dosi Crab Gimhae Branch (도시크랩 김해점) for garlic cheese butter grilled lobster. 🇻🇳 I'd loved the cheese-grilled crazy fish I had on a trip to Vietnam, and it popped into my head, so off I went. It came with nacho cheese sauce and gloriously stretchy cheese, piled on generously, so as a cheese lover I was completely happy with this meal haha

Parking and atmosphere at Dosi Crab Gimhae Branch

Dosi Crab Gimhae Branch has a parking lot, and it proudly says it handles lobster and snow crab itself, from import to distribution. "Confident from the parking lot on! Directly from import to distribution!"

Inside, the place was packed with fresh lobster and snow crab. 🦀🦐

There are plenty of tables and private rooms too, so it looked like a good spot for a family meal or a get-together. The interior was clean, which I liked.

Lots of celebrities seem to have visited, since you can see their autographs. Sandara Park's signature caught my eye because it was so cute haha

What's in Dosi Crab's ₩6,000-per-person starter spread?

The starter spread at Dosi Crab Gimhae Branch is ₩6,000 per person, and it covers a lot: mushroom soup, raw shrimp, assorted tempura, dessert and more. Normally it comes with suyuk bossam (boiled pork wraps), but that day we got an eel dish instead, and the eel was good, so no complaints! If we'd had the bossam too, I would have burst 😂 I also heard it's free for children, national merit holders, police officers, firefighters, soldiers and seniors, which is a nice touch.

We ordered the medium garlic cheese butter grilled lobster without a second thought, then looked around the restaurant while waiting for the food.

Mushroom soup, eel, shrimp tempura and snow crab tempura

The first thing out was the mushroom soup. It's a snow crab specialist, yet the soup was properly delicious! Maybe it tasted even better because I hadn't had it in a while.

Then the rest of the starter dishes arrived one by one. There was plenty of variety and the plating was pretty, so I was in a good mood before even eating. Sweet-glazed eel, crispy shrimp tempura and snow crab tempura too! The tempura was crunchy and tasty.

Sweet shrimp and raw shrimp

Shrimp, which I really love, showed up too 🦐 The sweet shrimp (danssaeu) spread richly and melted in my mouth, so good. Raw shrimp came along with it, so for a shrimp lover like me it was a perfect lineup. While waiting for the main dish I kept tasting things, and before I knew it the plates were nearly empty haha

Size and taste of the medium garlic cheese butter lobster

The medium garlic cheese butter grilled lobster at Dosi Crab came out much bigger than I expected. And here comes the star of the day! Wow, I'd pictured a modest size for "medium," but it was bigger than that, and with cheese piled on without holding back, I loved it from the look alone 🧀

When I pulled the lobster meat out in one piece, it was full and plump! The meat was chewy and fresh, and the salty cheese sauce went well with it. With the nutty garlic cheese butter flavor on top, I kept reaching for more.

Shellfish like shrimp and lobster really are delicious cheese-grilled! The claw meat was plump too, which made it fun to eat.

The cheese-grilled lobster at Dosi Crab came with the head filled right to the inside with shrimp and grilled vegetables. The head usually doesn't have much to eat and can be a letdown, but this way I enjoyed it right to the end. Among the vegetables, the bell pepper was especially good. Grilled with the cheese, it had great flavor and went well with the lobster.

I finished neatly with yogurt. It had been a while since I'd had cheese-grilled lobster, so it was extra satisfying. When you miss the cheese-grilled dish you loved in Vietnam, it's great to be able to get it in Korea without traveling far 🤎
