Today I'm introducing Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall (현선이네 프리미엄 IFC몰), a snack bar near The Hyundai and a true Yeouido tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) hotspot where the tteokbokki, sundae (Korean blood sausage) and gimbap (seaweed rice roll) are all great. The long-time Yongsan Station tteokbokki favorite now has a Yeouido branch too. So, no more preamble, let's dive in.

Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch in Yeouido?

Hyeonseonine Premium is on B2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, about halfway along the moving walkway. I'd tried the Yongsan main branch and loved it, so a branch opening nearby in Yeouido?! I had to go.

The interior is clean, in white and wood tones. The kitchen is open, which feels hygienic and makes me like it even more, haha. I went at an awkward time, after 3 p.m., and still got lucky with exactly one seat left, haha.

There's a separate self-bar with pickled radish, bowls, salt and soy sauce ◡̈

The menu is split into à la carte / sets / made-to-order / drinks and alcohol. Ordering a set is better value! There's also instant (cook-at-table) tteokbokki, so fans of that should give it a try~

How spicy is Hyeonseonine's level 2 brothy tteokbokki?

Hyeonseonine became famous for its brothy tteokbokki, with a really generous amount of spicy broth ❤️

I chose level 2 (medium), which is a little spicier than Shin Ramyeon. It's pleasantly spicy and so, so good ❤️ It keeps you craving more! If you can't handle spice, it may be a bit hot for you~^^ The rice cakes are super chewy, and scooping them up with lots of that spicy broth is delicious~^^

Mini gimbap and fried assortment at Hyeonseonine

The mini gimbap in the combo set is full of sesame oil aroma. Ham, fresh vegetables and pickled radish, all delicious 💕

Dipping the mini gimbap into the tteokbokki broth is pure heaven ❤️ It was so good I want it again.

The fried assortment includes gimmari (glass noodle seaweed rolls), vegetable fritters, fried dumplings, squid and more. Tteokbokki and fried food is the golden rule, right~?

Look at the plump glass noodles inside the gimmari! The nutty seaweed and chewy noodles are amazing.

The sweet potato fritter is made with kabocha-type sweet potato, so it's very sweet and delicious ❤️ Sweet potato fritters need tteokbokki broth!

These are vegetable fritters packed with sweet onion and carrot. You know the vegetable fritter is the best one, right~? It's been a while, and it brought back nostalgic flavors. So good.

Is Hyeonseonine's sundae good enough for a blood-sausage fan?

And now, the main event: the sundae. Honestly I don't really like the fake kind of sundae, but I'd heard Hyeonseonine's is really good, so I was very excited.

Wow, that chewy, nutty flavor! It's somewhere between blood sausage and plain glass-noodle sundae, I'd say~? It was so much better than expected that I was shocked. I'm totally on Team Blood Sausage, and it was so good I ate it all myself!!! If you go to Hyeonseonine, you have to order the sundae ❤️ They make it really well.

Fish cake broth and final verdict on Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall

And warm fish cake broth too~~^^ The chewy fish cake goes really well with the tteokbokki. Eating it with the warm broth made everything more filling and tasty.

The tteokbokki is really good, and the sundae is amazing! With the sundae and fried food so good, I already want to go again. I recommend Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall, a Yeouido tteokbokki hotspot near The Hyundai where the tteokbokki, sundae and gimbap are all great.
