I recently went back (again, and again!) to one of my absolute favorites, the Gangbyeon/Guui Station BBQ spot Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Guui Branch (상구네솥뚜껑삼겹살 구의점)! Tasty meat, all kinds of unlimited wrap greens and drinks for ₩2,900 make it a top value-for-money BBQ place, so let me tell you about the set menu we had (˘ᵕ˘)
Where is Sanggu's Guui Branch, and what is the vibe?
Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Guui Branch is a pork belly restaurant in Guui-dong, between Gangbyeon Station and Guui Station. It is an 8-minute walk from Guui Station Exit 2 and a 7-minute walk from Gangbyeon Station Exit 1. It is open daily 11:00-02:00 (last order 01:00), and for parking you can use the mechanical parking behind the building or the Guui 3-dong public parking lot.

The inside is clean and homey, with group seating and baby chairs, so it works for company dinners or family visits. There are also separate men's and women's restrooms.
Unlimited greens and side dishes at Sanggu's
Inside the restaurant there are refillable side dishes: ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste), kimchi, pickled chili and garlic, bean sprouts, bracken, pickled onion, mussam (pickled radish wraps) and more.
There are also all kinds of vegetables kept clean and fresh in a refrigerator with swing doors, and you can help yourself.

Napa cabbage, perilla leaves, lettuce, dangwi (angelica leaves), garlic scapes, enoki mushrooms, kabocha squash, eggplant... when I come to Sanggu's I go home stuffed with healthy veggies (🫶🏻︎'-')
Sanggu's menu and prices
One serving of meat at Sanggu's is a generous 200g ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ ) The sets are the half plate (500g) at ₩43,000 and the full plate (900g) at ₩77,000.

- Full-plate (900g) set ₩77,000: minari or siraegi + frozen pork belly or fresh pork belly + fresh pork neck + pork jowl + 3 draft beers (300cc) or 3 drinks or 2 fried rice

And the alcohol prices are ridiculously cheap! Soju and beer are ₩2,900, and draft beer is ₩1,900. Insane value ᐠ( ¨̮ )ᐟ It's perfect if you come with people who love a drink.
What we ordered for 3 people
- Half-plate (500g) set ₩43,000 (minari + fresh pork belly + fresh pork neck + 1 fried rice)
- Korean frozen pork belly 200g ₩15,800
- Coke Zero ₩2,000
What does the half-plate (500g) set look like?

The half-plate set comes with kimchi, bean sprouts, bracken and onion piled onto a big cauldron lid as standard.

A good variety of basic side dishes comes out too. For the half-plate set we chose minari over siraegi 🥰

These are the veggies we brought from the self-bar! The cucumber peppers were so crunchy >_<
The meat in the half-plate set is two kinds: pork neck and pork belly. The bright pink meat looks great at first glance (๑꙾ ༥ ꙾๑)

With all kinds of vegetables piled on the cauldron lid grill, it looks really generous.
Do the staff grill the meat?
Yes! Even with such low prices, the staff grill the meat for you at Sanggu's, so you can eat comfortably!

Golden and neatly grilled pork belly ( '༥' 🥢 )

No gamey smell, nutty and properly juicy, so good!! Cheap, but high-quality meat ( 'ᢦ' )

I eat the pork belly with minari, and also make wraps with dangwi. You can enjoy it lots of ways to suit your taste! i love dangwi ♡ ˙ᵕ˙ ♡

Enoki mushrooms, bracken and even eggplant grilled in the pork fat were simply deli-cious.
Should three people add frozen pork belly (naengsam)?
Since there were three of us, we added 200g of Korean frozen pork belly (₩15,800). Sanggu's naengsam (frozen pork belly) comes with a pepper grinder, and the staff grind it over the meat as they grill.

Crispy outside, juicy inside naengsam! A generous BBQ feast starting at lunchtime ˁˆˑˆˀ
Is the half-plate set's fried rice good?

This is the fried rice included in the half-plate set! Every time I came to Sanggu's I was too full for fried rice, so this was my first time trying it, and of course it was delicious > _<

With kimchi, bean sprouts and seaweed flakes, it's hard for it to taste bad. Fried rice cleared ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ )
Sanggu's Guui Branch in a nutshell
- A pork belly place that knows its stuff, with plenty of vegetables that pair well with the meat
- Great-value meat and alcohol prices
