Kaken is a Japanese izakaya with wood-toned interiors in a Dangsan-ro alley near Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. After a light dinner, the writer stopped by Kaken for a second round and ordered the small assorted sashimi at 36,000 won plus three skewers — negima, chicken tenderloin and chicken cartilage — and the ankimo (monkfish liver) served with the sashimi paired especially well with a glass of cheongha (clear rice liquor). If you want both atmosphere and solid drinking food near Dangsan Station, Kaken is the answer.
