Sunset rooftop bakery café in Hopo, Yangsan: sausage pastry at Choi
In short
Choi Main Branch (초이 본점) is a large Blue Ribbon bakery café with Nakdong River views, right next to Hopo Station in Yangsan, Gyeongnam. The writer visited on a weekday around sunset, watched the Nakdong River sunset from the 3rd-floor rooftop, and warmed the new choco baguette, sausage pastry and pollock roe potato pastry in the 2nd-floor microwave to eat with chamomile tea and a chocolate latte. The sausage pastry was the best Choi bread yet and worth buying again, and with roomy seating, power outlets and an underground garage, Choi Main Branch is a great café to visit with kids or parents.

From the recommended menu to parking, the Nakdong River view and the rooftop mood, here is a detailed look at Choi Main Branch, a Blue Ribbon bakery in Yangsan (as of October 2026).
Choi Main Branch hours and location
Choi Main Branch is open daily 09:00–21:50, and last order for the 2nd-floor café is 21:20. Baby chairs, a microwave and a packing counter are all provided.
Choi in Yangsan is a large bakery café that earned a Blue Ribbon in 2024, and it sits right next to Hopo Station, so it is easy to visit even without a car.
Choi Main Branch atmosphere and seating

Choi is a big Blue Ribbon café where you can eat bread while looking out at the Nakdong River, so this Yangsan café is packed at all hours, weekday or weekend.

There is a huge variety of seating, from floor seats to sofa tables and bar seats, and the tables are spaced widely apart, so it was comfortable to spend time here.

There are outlets here and there too, so it is good for working on a laptop haha. And you can see the Nakdong River, so two birds with one stone!
Can you watch the Nakdong River sunset from Choi Main Branch's 3rd-floor rooftop?

The 3rd floor of Choi Main Branch has a rooftop with a view of the Nakdong River 🤩
I visited around sunset, and isn't the sun setting over the Nakdong River so pretty?? Next time I want to spend some time up on the rooftop haha.
It should be fine to visit even on a blazing sunny day, since parasols are provided for free haha.
Where to park at Choi Main Branch

Parking at Choi Main Branch is split between the building's 1st floor, the underground garage and outside the entrance. When I visited at 3 PM on a weekday, the 1st floor was full, so I parked in the underground garage, where plenty of spots were left.
Breads and pastries at Choi Main Branch

Choi is also famous for its wide range of baked goods. It runs by keeping the menu from the formerly famous Haewoldang and adding new items on top. The writer says the specific breads and prices are covered in detail in an earlier post.

This time I tried the newly arrived choco baguette, sausage pastry and roe potato pastry.
Honest review of Choi's new breads

There is a microwave on the 2nd floor of Choi Main Branch like this, so I warmed up the breads a little haha.
Choco baguette: chocolate custard that oozes when warmed

The first thing I tried, Choi's choco baguette, was packed with chocolate custard and chocolate chips.

For baguettes, if you ask for cutting when you buy, they slice the whole thing for you, which made it easy to eat.

After a short spin in the microwave, can you see this choco custard oozing out..? 🤤 It isn't too sweet so it never gets cloying, and the ratio of cream to bread is just right, so I kept eating it haha. As I ate, it even reminded me a little of Sungsimdang +_+

Just look at this crazy visual..!
Sausage pastry: the best Choi bread I've had so far

This sausage pastry was the tastiest Choi bread I've had so far. A whole sausage is wrapped in pastry and topped with sauces like Puringkle and Myeongrang Hotdog seasoning, and you know how good that sauce combination is, right?_?
The pastry is crispy, and the sausage and the salty sauce come together in one hit, so it is totally my taste. It was so good I'd buy it again ㅠㅠ
Pollock roe potato pastry: an unusual combo that works

The roe potato pastry (myeongran, salted pollock roe) is another new release. With sausage, braised mushrooms, roe and potato together, it sounded a little unfamiliar, but when I tried it, it all blended well??
All the ingredients are healthy, so I think it would work as a meal replacement too haha. Even I, who dislikes mushrooms, enjoyed it! 👍 Of course, it's a Blue Ribbon large café.
Drinks: chamomile tea and chocolate latte

I had chamomile tea and a chocolate latte with them too, and they were clean-tasting and went nicely with the desserts haha.
Choi Main Branch: final verdict
- Recommended rooftop café with a Nakdong River view
- A large café in Busan and Yangsan that's good for kids
- A place with great sausage bread and baguettes
- A Blue Ribbon bakery in Busan and Yangsan
Choi Main Branch sits right next to Hopo Station, so it is easy to reach without a car, and it was a good place to bring parents or kids haha.
