When you travel to Pyeongchang or Yongpyong in Gangwon-do, after skiing or hiking you start craving a hot bowl of soup to fill you back up. That's when you should head to Daegwallyeong Hanwoo Gopchang & Gukbap.

Staff grill the gopchang for you
Daegwallyeong Hanwoo Gopchang & Gukbap offers a service for busy diners where staff grill the gopchang (beef tripe) dishes themselves. The staff grill it to the perfect state with practiced hands, so all customers have to do is relax and enjoy the meal, haha.

Stepping inside, a spacious, pleasant room opens up, with modern interior touches and warm lighting coming together for a comfortable dining atmosphere!

But this place isn't just about gopchang — it's fully equipped with haejangguk (hangover soup) and gukbap (rice soup) too, and it's already a well-known spot in the Pyeongchang and Yongpyong area apparently.

On the wall there are signs about the 'benefits of beef tripe' and 'benefits of beef head gukbap,' so knowing how what you're eating helps your health makes the flavor feel even more special.

The origin of the ingredients is transparently labeled, which only boosts customer trust even more!!

Tablet ordering and menu check
This place also lets you order easily via a tablet at each table, and you can check info on the signature dishes, gopchang and so-teukyang-gui (grilled sweetbread), at a glance.

Here's the detailed menu for reference!

Lunch order: Daegwallyeong haejangguk and someori gukbap
Since it was lunchtime, our group ordered the restaurant's popular menu items, Daegwallyeong haejangguk and someori gukbap.

The kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) side dishes were crisp and refreshing, pairing perfectly with the gukbap. It's a big plus that they use domestic hanwoo beef, rice, and kimchi here, so you can enjoy the meal with peace of mind.

You can freely add sauce, salt, pepper, or perilla seeds to taste.

Daegwallyeong haejangguk — spicy, deep broth
The first dish was the Daegwallyeong haejangguk. The moment I took the first spoonful, the spicy yet deep, rich broth made me let out an involuntary gasp of admiration.

The seonji (ox blood) had no gamey smell at all and was chewy yet soft, seeming to melt away in your mouth.

Simmered together with the tripe for extra depth of flavor, the broth felt like it was cleanly washing away the effects of drinking the night before.
Just looking at it, the red broth looked spicy, generously filled with soft ox blood and various vegetables.

Someori gukbap — clear, mild broth with somyeon noodles
Next up, the someori gukbap (beef head rice soup) showed off an entirely opposite charm. The clear, milky-white broth was clean and mild, perfect for anyone who prefers a less intense flavor.

The broth was packed with softly boiled beef head meat and chewy somyeon noodles, so just one bowl left you completely full.
The meat had no off flavor and was tender, a taste anyone would enjoy regardless of age. Dipping the somyeon noodles in the mild broth and eating them with the meat, you could really taste the true flavor of hanwoo beef.

Cleaned the bowl again today, as always~

Wifi and payment convenience
After finishing the meal, you can use various convenience facilities set up inside the restaurant. Free wifi, of course,

and they also support various payment systems like NH Point and N Reservation, taking care of customer convenience, haha.
If you're planning to visit Pyeongchang or Yongpyong in Gangwon-do, I recommend Daegwallyeong Hanwoo Gopchang & Gukbap!! The deep, rich Daegwallyeong haejangguk and the clean, mild someori gukbap will blow away your travel fatigue, and if you want to take care of both your health and your taste buds with one hearty bowl of soup, I definitely recommend giving this place a visit~~~
