Hi everyone, it's Junhee :) I could swear I just got a haircut not that long ago haha. But it's basically a law of nature for guys — the moment the side hair grows even a little, it flares up and looks messy ㅠ
So this time I went looking for a hair salon near Gangnam Station that's good at men's see-through dandy cuts, and I ended up visiting "Koara Haircare," run by head designer Koara! For this session I decided to clean things up with a see-through dandy cut + down perm ^___^

Inside Koara Haircare Gangnam: interior and waiting area
Overall the salon is spacious and clean ✨ It has a local-neighborhood-salon kind of feel, so I liked that I could hang out there without any pressure :)
There's a coffee and drink station toward the back, so I could sip something while waiting, no rush. The waiting seats are also spacious and the chairs are super soft, so waiting around was very comfortable haha.
Before: shaggy hair with sides flaring out
Before the treatment my hair had grown out a bit and looked shaggy overall. My side hair especially flares up fast, so it kept puffing back up again no matter what ㅠ
I didn't want a heavy fringe hanging down, but I also didn't want to cut it too short, so this time I asked for a see-through dandy cut that naturally shows a bit of forehead! I also asked to tidy up the side hair with a down perm at the same time.
Head designer Koara looked at my current hair state first, then talked through exactly what kind of look I wanted, step by step, to set the direction.
Before the cut, I went to get my hair washed and — the chair was a massage chair, seriously ㄷㄷ The stylist checked the water temperature, asked where I was from (and asked if my membership tier was really diamond lol), and made small talk the whole time, which really helped me relax! (Such a kind designer.)
How the side-hair down perm and volume magic were done
After the cut came the side-hair down perm. Since my side hair tends to flare up easily, I asked her to pay special attention to the back-of-head area, and specifically asked for it to fall naturally along the shape of my head rather than sit flat and glued down!
The down perm was done carefully, and she checked in on my hair's condition throughout, which I appreciated. Getting cared for directly by the head designer really does make a difference!
She even brought me a snack so I wouldn't get bored waiting for the perm solution to set (so sweet..)
Since my hair is quite curly, she did volume magic straightening at the same time too (her hands were seriously fast..)

Ta-da — the men's see-through dandy cut is done ✨ Compared to before, the whole silhouette is way cleaner!
The back of my head is honestly pretty flat, but she gave it natural volume so my head looks smaller and neater overall, and my face looks more three-dimensional too.
The fringe also shows a bit of forehead with the see-through style, so it doesn't look stuffy ^^ I don't need to style it hard at all — it's the kind of cut I can just touch up lightly day to day, which makes mornings before work or heading out to meet people a lot easier!
