What's on the menu at Hekbap?

Hekbap gathers popular Japanese home-style dishes in one place: rice bowls (donburi), ramen, udon, soba and katsu (breaded cutlet), so the menu is really varied. Prices are reasonable too, so if you're looking for a good-value Konkuk Univ. restaurant, it should satisfy you.

I also liked that with such a wide menu, everyone in your group can enjoy what they want even if your tastes differ.

How were the salmon rice bowl and mini udon?

Okay~ now let's get to the taste review.

Salmon rice bowl set ordered at Hekbap

The salmon rice bowl caught my eye the moment it came out. Appetizing salmon, crunchy onion and an egg yolk on top,

it looked perfect. I popped the yolk and mixed it with the salmon, and the nutty richness and softness filled my mouth.

The salmon was fresh too,

so every bite was really satisfying.

Mini udon served with the salmon rice bowl

The mini udon served alongside had a rich yet clean broth, and it rounded off the meal nice and filling.

Is the cube steak rice bowl generous with the meat?

When the cube steak rice bowl came out, it was piled with nicely grilled cube steak. The looks are great, right? haha

On the first bite, the outside had a subtle smoky grill flavor and the inside was moist and juicy, so the meat's flavor came through richer the more I chewed.

The salty-sweet special sauce soaked into the rice, and the meat and rice went together really well.

The portion of meat was generous too, so I could eat meat with rice right to the last spoonful. If you need a hearty meal, or you're craving meat, you won't regret ordering this.
