Aged sashimi platter and miso eggplant at Kuroiya, Itaewon bar
Kuroiya is an izakaya-style aged sashimi bar tucked in a basement alley near Itaewon Station in Yongsan, Seoul. Two diners ordered the assorted sashimi platter for ₩65,000 and miso eggplant tempura for ₩15,000, tasting herring, seared tuna, raw shrimp, Spanish mackerel and salmon, plus a review-event anago liver roll, a mackerel-potato roll and sake on the house. The well-aged salmon and bone-free herring stood out, and the spacious interior works for both groups and dates.
