Dining alone at a Seolleung Station Peking duck bar: Mirim Yangjang
In short
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is a Peking duck restaurant and bar in a basement near Exit 1 of Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. After a friend cancelled, the writer ate alone, ordering a half Peking duck (39,000 won) and lettuce duck wraps (8,000 won); with complimentary egg noodles, the filling meal came to 47,000 won. I went to Mirim Yangjang, a Seolleung Peking duck spot where you can eat for around ₩30,000! I'd originally booked it with a friend, but something urgent came up for her, so I ended up going solo....ㅠㅠ I never imagined eating Peking duck alone.... but I really wanted it, and there was a half-duck option, so I just worked up my courage and went by myself, haha. It's even better for team dinners or meetups, but it was also great for solo dining. Here's my review of Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch, starting now!!
Where is Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch, and what about parking?
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is at 30 Seolleung-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in basement level 1. It's just a short walk from Exit 1 of Seolleung Station (Line 2 and Suin-Bundang Line), so it's super easy to get to. You can't park in the building, so I recommend public transport! If you're driving, you'll need to use the nearby Golden Rose 2 parking lot or the Dongsan Building parking lot, haha.
Opening hours and how to book
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is open 12:00 to 02:00 on both weekdays and weekends, with last order at 01:00. You can reserve through Naver Reservation or CatchTable! Personally I like collecting Naver reviews, so I booked through Naver, haha!!
A retro exterior and a Hong Kong noir-style interior

Walking down the alley, you spot a retro, hip entrance right away, haha. The exterior has a strong old-school tailor shop vibe, so I couldn't not take photos, lol.

Head downstairs and the mood flips completely! Red-toned lighting and an overall interior that feels a bit like stepping onto a Hong Kong noir film set, lolololol.

Is it good for team dinners and wedding invitation meetups near Seolleung?
The space is bigger than I expected and there are lots of tables, so I think it works well as a Seolleung team dinner spot, haha. Is there no Mirim Yangjang in Magok!? I'll have to look, haha. It looks so good for groups that next time I have a wedding invitation meetup with friends, I might try it here!! haha

There were also room-style spaces at the back where you can eat in private. The lighting is soft and cozy, so it'd be really nice to reserve for a date or a wedding invitation meetup!
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch menu and prices

The signature Peking duck is ₩76,000 for a whole duck and ₩39,000 for half. The full menu on the wall is super varied, with guobaorou (crispy sweet-and-sour pork) ₩18,000, mapo tofu ₩19,000, yuringi (fried chicken with sauce) ₩21,000, jjamppong soup (spicy seafood noodle soup) ₩22,000 and more, haha. Since I was alone I only ordered half a duck and one or two sides, but next time I definitely want to go with a friend and try a wider range!!
What I ordered for my solo meal

- Half Peking duck ₩39,000
- Lettuce duck wraps ₩8,000
- Egg noodles (complimentary)
Why Toss QR ordering made eating alone easy

I sat down and could order easily with the Toss QR code on the table. No need to call over a staff member, just order on your phone, which is the absolute best for a solo diner like me, haha. Every menu item also has a photo, so choosing was really easy!

Maybe because I'd reserved, my spot already had a small plate, utensils and a water glass neatly set out, haha.
The things you can't skip with Peking duck came out first: shredded scallion, cucumber and peanuts. I want to put meat on and make a wrap already,,,,

Those ducks in the showcase are real?
While waiting for the food I wandered around the restaurant and spotted this.... the clear glass showcase by the kitchen is full of ducks! I assumed they were models, but I was told the hanging ducks are all real, and I was so surprised, lol.

The ducks hanging in the kitchen are real too, of course.... don't they look so delicious.... I ordered half, so they cut one of those in half for me, haha.

There are also steamers up front like this! I didn't order any dumplings, so I didn't get to see the steamers in use, haha.
A solo half-duck spread: how did it taste?

At last the half Peking duck, lettuce duck wraps and egg noodles all arrived! A perfect spread filling the whole table!! It doesn't look like a table for one person.... I think it's thanks to the complimentary egg noodles, lolololol (and amazingly, I finished almost all of it...)

The complimentary egg noodles
The egg noodles here.... so good ㅠㅠ I ate them without expecting much, and they were packed with vegetables, which I loved!!

Half a duck, crispy outside and juicy inside
A close-up of the Peking duck ㅜㅜ The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat juicy, the textbook crispy-outside, juicy-inside. The more you chew, the nuttier it gets, and I was genuinely moved ㅠㅠ

Put juicy duck meat on a thin wheat pancake, add scallion, cucumber and plenty of the special sauce, wrap it up and eat it, and it's so good!!! The value is insane....ㅠㅠ Is it even real that you can eat Peking duck for around ₩30,000...

Extra order: lettuce duck wraps, ₩8,000
The lettuce duck wraps I added on! Eating sweet-and-salty stir-fried duck wrapped in crunchy lettuce was a real treat, haha. It's slightly sweet, and it's good wrapped in just lettuce or in the pancake too!! I had the egg noodles, so I didn't order rice, but if I'd come with a friend I probably would have. I bet it's a total rice thief (a dish that makes you eat lots of rice).

How much did I pay eating alone?
I left stuffed to bursting for a total of ₩47,000! Being able to eat Peking duck this full for this price feels like a really great deal.

On my way out after paying, I noticed hair ties, dental floss and toothpicks set out at the counter. They even put out hair ties to make eating easier.... what a thoughtful touch, I was touched.
Verdict: Peking duck for one is doable at Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch
I was worried about whether I could eat Peking duck alone, but Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch lets you order half a duck, so it was great for solo dining, haha. After a solo barbecue meal, now Peking duck too, solo success!! lolololol The duck skin was especially good and I keep thinking about it!ㅠㅠ I got greedy and ordered several dishes, so it was a bit much for one person, but maybe because I'd been swimming beforehand, I finished almost everything, lolololol. If I'd gone with my friend as planned I could have tried more variety, which is such a shame ㅜㅜ Still, I'm so happy I found a great spot with a good vibe, haha. The place has a hip atmosphere and rooms too, so if you're looking for a Seolleung team dinner or wedding invitation meetup spot, I'd totally recommend it!!
