Cat dry food two cats ate well: Thrive Premium Plus Salmon & Herring

Fish-based cat food can make me hesitate because of the smell, but Thrive Premium Plus Salmon & Herring Cat Dry Food did not have an overwhelming scent, even to me. I fed it directly to my two cats and watched their eating pace and reactions.

What stood out about the packaging and ingredients?

The bag came in a compressed form and had a zip closure, which made it convenient to use.

What stood out in the ingredients was that it uses dried meat and fresh meat rather than powdered ingredients. The figures introduced in the original post were 70% meat content and 35% crude protein, and it also mentioned salmon oil, salmon gravy, and compliance with FEDIAF standards. I was interested in it in hopes of supporting coat and skin care, but I did not record any specific changes after feeding it.

How did the two cats respond to their first feeding?

My second cat showed curiosity about the food and came right over as soon as I put the bowl down. Even though it was new food, this cat ate without hesitation and left none behind.

My first cat checked the scent as soon as I opened the bag. This cat ate one or two pieces, paused briefly midway, and eventually finished it. Their eating speeds differed, but neither cat showed an aversion to the fish scent.

What were the fish scent and kibble size like?
