Some of my favorite clothes had started pilling, but the fabric shaver I had at home was not getting them clean enough. While looking for a new one, I received the Panasonic cordless fabric shaver NI-LR002 to try.

What are the included items and charging method like?
The model I used is the NI-LR002. The box included the main unit, manual, cleaning brush, and USB-C cable.

It charges by USB-C, so I could use my smartphone charger too, and it felt quick to charge. The stated specifications say it supports fast charging and runs continuously for up to 60 minutes when fully charged. I used it on several garments without worrying about charging.

How did it feel on the wrist when caring for several garments?
It is compact and weighs about 200 g, so it felt light from the first time I picked it up. Even when I used it on several garments in a row, it did not strain my wrist. It is also an easy size to put in a bag, so I thought it would be nice to take on trips or business travel.

I also liked its clean, no-frills white design. On a vanity or shelf, it looked like a small beauty device and blended in nicely.

Can you adjust the pill-removal power and speed?
At first, I worried it might be underpowered because it is so small. Its stated rotational speed is 8,500 RPM, and it felt more powerful than I expected in practice. It cleared pills from the surface without pressing hard, and I felt almost no fabric damage on the clothes I used it on.

There are three speed settings, which made it easy to match the setting to the fabric. I used level 1 for thin T-shirts or knits, level 2 for regular cardigans, and level 3 for thick knits or coats.

Do removed pills scatter around, or is cleanup inconvenient?
This product has six-layer stainless-steel blades, and the clothing surface looked neatly cleaned up after use. The automatic suction feature was especially convenient. No residue was left on the clothes after removing the pills, which made finishing up easy.

When I opened the lint container after using it, there was a lot of removed lint collected inside. It held quite a lot at once, and it was easy to maintain with the included cleaning brush.

What were the results on a white T-shirt and knitwear?
I first used it on a white T-shirt with severe pilling. It looked messy with a mix of black and white pills, but I liked the fit and wanted to keep wearing it.

Just moving it gently cleaned up the pills without scattering them. The noise was not as loud as I expected, and it did not bother me while watching TV. It also felt less burdensome noise-wise when using it at night.

It removed the pills in a short time without any force. The surface looked clean from the first pass, so I could see the before-and-after difference in the T-shirt.

I tried it on knitwear too, and on the knit I cared for, it cleared only the surface pills without snagging the yarn. The light unit let me care for several garments in succession, and I was happy that there was little need to shake off removed lint separately.
