Sokcho bakery with free tasting and ₩1,000 jjondeugi: Bultan Gamja
Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread Main Store is a potato bread and jjondeugi (chewy dried-squid snack) bakery on Hagsapyeong-gil in Sokcho, Gangwon. Samples are set out in the store, so you can taste before choosing, and jjondeugi is sold by the piece at 1,000 won each in squid, dakgangjeong (sweet fried chicken) and snow crab flavors. For the drive home I bought a 4-pack of potato bread and a 12-piece jjondeugi set — an easy car snack that doubles as a Sokcho souvenir.
