Dine-in sashimi set for two in Jumunjin, Gangneung: Minja Hoetjip

Minja Hoetjip is a sashimi restaurant inside Jumunjin Fish Market in Gangneung, directly across from the coastal parking tower. Two people visited on a weekday around 5pm and ordered the small rockfish and sea bream set for 80,000 won, which came with side dishes, mulhoe guksu (cold raw fish noodle soup) and maeuntang (spicy fish stew), and watched the fish sliced in front of them. For anyone who judges a Jumunjin sashimi restaurant by portion and value for money, Minja Hoetjip delivers.

Korean BBQ beef platter 600g for three in Seocho, Seoul: Ugojip

Ugojip is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, about 100m from Express Bus Terminal Station Exit 8-2, in the basement of Banpo Shopping Town Building 5. Three of us visited after setting up and taking down an art fair booth and shared the signature set 600g (79,000 won) plus brisket doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and fried rice. With five cuts on one platter and 100g add-on orders, Ugojip works well for a group of three or four or a family dinner.

Express Bus Terminal Korean restaurant for two: brisket sundubu

Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch is a Korean rice-and-stew restaurant in the basement food court of Seoul Express Bus Terminal in Seocho, Seoul. Sharing a meal with a younger sibling, the order was brisket sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) with rice for 15,000 won and jjageuli (thick simmered stew) with rice for 12,000 won, plus steamed egg for 3,000 won — just the right amount for two. Standing right outside Exit 1 of Express Bus Terminal Station, Bapjangin is an easy stop before or after shopping or a bus ride.
