A half-day off with my daughter at Doasis, a brunch café in Yangju
What if you walk into a café and suddenly feel like you're in Jeju? I finally took a half-day off and went on a date with just my daughter to Doasis, a brunch café in Yangju. I'm always busy, so spending time this leisurely is harder than you'd think. I wanted somewhere with a nice mood and tasty desserts, and that's how we ended up at Doasis.
I kept seeing it on social media and had wanted to go once. In person it was much bigger than in the photos, and the space itself was really impressive. The exotic tree garden in the middle of the café made me wonder if this was really Yangju! I could kind of see why people come here. 🌴

Is parking easy at Doasis?
Doasis has a dedicated parking lot with plenty of spaces, so it was easy to come by car with my child. When you go out with a kid, parking matters as much as the café's atmosphere. However pretty a place is, if parking is a struggle you're tired before you even start.
It's not easy to find a large café of this size in Yangju, so convenient parking made me even happier. If you're searching for large cafés in Yangju, this is probably a welcome plus.
Doasis's indoor garden in Yangju: does it really feel like Jeju?
The first thing I noticed when I stepped inside was the huge trees filling the center. The space, decorated with tall palm trees and green plants, looked like a big botanical garden in Jeju. It's an atmosphere you rarely see in an ordinary bakery café.

What I liked most was that Doasis isn't just big, it uses its space with room to breathe! The tables are well spaced and the plants naturally divide the space, so it hardly feels stuffy. Some large cafés are big but a bit empty, or crowded with people. Here it felt like tables had been placed one by one in a forest.
A big space with a cozy mood, a little special, you could say? With soft music playing, it was a great place to chat quietly with my daughter. True to its name, it really felt like an oasis in the city.

Is there a good variety of bread at Doasis Bakery?
This brunch café in Yangju has a wide range of baked goods, and browsing the bread was half the fun. It's not just a pretty space! From sweet desserts to breads that work as a light meal, it was a lineup that made choosing surprisingly hard. If you love bread, one tray might not be enough, haha.
That said, popular breads can sell out later in the day, so if you want a wide choice, I recommend not going too late.

We kept picking this and that, and ended up with bread to eat in the café and bread to take away too.

Drinks Mom and daughter chose: caramel macchiato and strawberry latte
The drinks we ordered at Doasis that day were a caramel macchiato (₩8,000) and a strawberry latte (딸기듬뿍라떼, Ddalgi Deumppuk Latte, ₩7,800)!

☕ Caramel macchiato — ₩8,000
Doasis's caramel macchiato blends espresso aroma with smooth milk and sweet caramel. The caramel's sweetness balances the coffee's bitterness, so it pairs nicely with desserts.

🍓 Strawberry latte — ₩7,800
The strawberry latte is packed with domestic strawberry syrup, so it's sweet yet fresh and fruity. When I said my daughter would be drinking it, they thoughtfully made it a little less sweet.
As a mom, a small kindness like caring about a child's taste just makes me feel good. 💕 Thanks to that, our café date with my daughter was even sweeter. :)

Chocolate lovers, try Chocococo at Doasis!
The desserts we ate in the café that day were a madeleine, Chocococo, pandoro and a chocolate cookie. First up, Chocococo, which has a cute name already!
🍫 Chocococo — ₩4,800
Chocococo is a chocolate bread filled with chocolate sauce, topped with chocolate, cocoa powder and even pecans. In a word, a rich chocolate dessert for chocolate lovers! Chocolate bread, chocolate sauce and a chocolate coating, layer on layer, so it's the one to think of when you crave something sweet.
The nuttiness of the pecans adds variety to the deep chocolate flavor. And since we also picked a chocolate cookie, our dessert choices that day were clearly all in on chocolate, haha.
🍞 Pandoro — ₩5,500, a pass on looks alone
What caught my eye first on Doasis's pandoro was the heap of powdered sugar on top. It's a brioche dough with buttery flavor combined with custard cream. Soft, moist bread with sweet cream makes it a good match for coffee too.
It had a different charm from the rich chocolate desserts. I'd recommend it to those who love sweet bread but are drawn to soft cream more than chocolate.

🍪 Chocolate chip cookie — ₩3,200, deep chocolate charm
Doasis's chocolate chip cookie had an appealing sweet chocolate flavor. One bite gives you deep chocolate plus that nutty cookie taste, perfect when you want a sweet snack! It was great to share with my chocolate-loving daughter and went well with coffee too. 🍫
Can you bring a dog to Doasis?
Dogs are allowed at Doasis, but not in the regular café area. Instead, there's a separate dog-only space and dog run on the 4th floor, the top floor of the building. Be sure to remember this!
You can buy bread and drinks and spend time upstairs with your dog. It's good to know the space is separated from other guests when planning a café trip with a dog. It's good for visiting with kids and there's even a space for dogs, so it should work well for a family outing, right?

Is Doasis, a large café in Yangju, worth visiting with kids?
Above all, I loved the sense of ease the space gives. An exotic indoor garden that feels like Jeju, generous spacing between tables, a wide variety of baked goods! Parking was easy too, so it was no hassle to visit with a child.
Drinks are a bit pricey, but the big advantage is relaxing in a wide, pleasant space. Above all, it was an afternoon alone with my daughter after taking a half-day off, so I think I'll remember it even more. If you want to feel like you're traveling without going far, I recommend Doasis, a brunch café in Yangju! Next time I need to try the brunch menu. :)
