Lightweight woven shoulder bag for resort travel: Meda Bag

Ahead of an overseas resort trip, I picked out a woven bag in advance during winter. The Meda Bag Women's Summer Woven Shoulder Bag was in the 10,000 won range when I wrote the original post, and I liked its natural color and design.

How did the weight and shape feel in person?

When the package arrived and I first picked it up, the light weight was the first thing I noticed. I had been carrying a winter leather bag, so the difference felt even bigger when I switched. The light brown color looked natural too.

Rather than being floppy, the bag held its shape. I liked that it did not easily lose its form even with only a few things inside.

Is it easy to pack an iPad and small essentials?

There are two small pockets inside, plus a closing zipper at the top. I thought it would be easier to keep track of belongings than with an open bag where the contents are exposed. The small pockets would be handy for keeping a hotel key or lip balm separate.

I tried putting in an iPad, a pouch, and various small items myself, and the storage felt roomy. Since the bag itself was light, it did not feel overly burdensome even after I packed it, and its shoulder-bag shape sat nicely on my shoulder.

What did it feel and smell like against the skin?

It had almost none of the rough feeling I expected from a woven bag. It did not feel scratchy or irritating against my skin. There was a slight grassy scent, but it was not bothersome to me.

Because it is light, I hoped it would put less strain on my shoulders when carried for a long time at a travel destination. It also seemed breathable enough to carry coolly on hot days, but I have not used it at a summer destination yet.

How did I prepare it for water exposure?

Thinking about splashes at the beach or getting caught in a summer shower, I sprayed it with waterproofing spray in advance. I have not yet tested its water resistance in a real situation involving splashes or rain.

How was the zipper, and how satisfied was I overall?

The zipper opened and closed smoothly. I especially liked having roomy storage while still being able to close the top.

Considering its 10,000 won range price, I was satisfied with its light weight, shape, and storage setup. I plan to carry it not only on resort trips but also as an everyday bag in summer. My satisfaction so far is based on trying it in winter and packing it with my belongings.
