Why did I use it for winter-clothing care?

Every winter, I worry about the pilling that appears on my knits and coats. Even the cashmere cardigan and wool coat I bought last year had noticeable pills after one season. The low-cost model I used before would sometimes catch the fabric or feel underpowered, which was frustrating. This time, I was provided with the Panasonic Lint Remover to try.

Is it comfortable to hold and use with one hand?

Before anything else, its yogurt-cup-like design caught my eye rather than the usual handled shape. The listed size is about 9 cm, and it weighs about 200 g. It fit in one hand, and it did not put much strain on my wrist while I used it. It also seemed easy enough to carry in a travel pouch.

Did it remove pills from a thick coat well?

It removed the pills from my thick winter coat without pushing them around. The rotation felt consistent while I used it, and I did not feel that it got excessively hot even when left on for a while. The original listing states that the motor runs at 8,500 RPM.

How were charging and cordless use?

Because it charges via USB-C, I could use my phone charger too. I liked being able to sit on the sofa and tidy up clothes without a cord. The original listing says it can run continuously for up to 60 minutes on a single charge. Even when I gathered my family’s clothes to deal with over the weekend, the battery felt ample.

Was there any damage after depilling a thin knit?

I pulled out a knit that had developed a lot of pilling to work on.

There was especially heavy pilling on the upper-arm area, where there is frequent friction.

The cuff was covered in pills too.

I started using the lint remover on the pilled areas.

There were three adjustable speed settings. The original listing introduces low speed for thin T-shirts or silk-blend knits, medium speed for regular cardigans or sweaters, and high speed for thick coats or sofa covers. I liked being able to choose a speed based on the fabric.

It is presented as a product with a six-blade system. When I tried it on a thin knit I treasure, the surface pills were removed neatly, with no snags or holes. This result is from the knit I used, so I cannot say for certain that every fabric will be free from damage.

How did I clean up the removed lint and lint bin?

With the automatic suction feature, the shaved-off lint collected inside the bin instead of flying everywhere. The lint bin also felt roomy, so I did not need to empty it often during use.

When the bin was full, I removed it and shook the contents into the trash. Cleanup afterward was simple too.

For this trial, I liked the result on the thin knit, cordless use, and the simple lint-bin cleanup. Its clean design also made me think it would be a nice gift.
