Jjukkumi restaurant near Jeonju Hanok Village: self-serve banchan bar
Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa Ajung-ri Main Branch is a 19-year-old jjukkumi (baby octopus) restaurant on Donggajaemi 2-gil in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, about 10 minutes by car from Jeonju Hanok Village and Jeonju Station. Lunch here was the Hwasae set of jjukkumi, beef belly and shrimp at 20,000 won per person plus cheese fried rice at 3,000 won, with side dishes you help yourself to from a self-serve bar. Staff stir-fry the octopus at the table and serve it at the right moment, so the jjukkumi never turns rubbery — an easy detour on a Jeonju sightseeing day.
